How many user names do you use? Why do you need to use more than one user name? And why did you send me the same pm several times? You thought it would be more effective in this way? Or don't you trust the power of your words?

What a pity!

you see cyrano you are losing your temper. That thread is for suggestions and I put forward mine, but you turned it to a fighting ground instead of sending a private message. Now then, that was not very wise of you, was it?
Besides, where did you come out from, did you grow up all out of a sudden or what? or are you one of erdinc's fans as well.
I have a feeling you are still young, if not in age then in mind. Have mercy on yourself and go somewhere else. I am here to stay, so I am afraid you will be having a bumpy ride for the rest of your life in this site.
See you later.

Ohmygod - these two names are the same person? I have looked at some of the posts and there is at least one where Ottoman Bayan replies to Isam!! BIZARRE! :-S

Yes I can confirm from IP adresses that these two nicknames are connecting from the same computer.

Once the first nickname posts a message or starts a thread the other nickname is posting a message that supports the previous one. So basically we have here a person who talks by herself or himself with different nicknames.

The computer uses static IP.

Well... this could be the case. However, as an example, at least 3 people (lodgers and friends) have accessed this site using their own log-in - all using my computer. That may be the case with Isam and Ottoman Bayan???

but why would they both send the same private messege? although i guess he could have forgotton to log out and back in as himself...its strange..

I'm sorry Erdinç but that doesn't actually mean anything!!! The IP address that is seen by a web server is very rarely (if ever) the IP address of the machine of the user - it is the IP address of the server that the user connects to out on the new......

If you want to find the IP address of your own machine you can do so as follows:
Start->Run
type 'cmd' and click OK
in the window that appears type 'ipconfig' and press enter

The above will give you the IP address of your computer.
Now go to this webpage that I have just written to demonstarte this - it will show you the IP address as the website sees it.......and they will almost certainly be different!!!

Many users will appear to have the same IP address in fact!

I guess if it wasn't true he would have deffended by now.. but i see he didn't write anything here yet although it is an old topic(1 month)... Does he need a special invitation or something? If he doesn't say aything i think it is normal to say he is guilty. But he should at least tell us some of his reasons for which he is doing this .

Forgive me for my naivety - but what exactly is his 'crime' - what are they guilty of?? We are all here under an 'assumed' name so what is the problem?

Maybe guilty is not the right word , maybe it is too strong..i am not so good at english u are.
on this treat the discusion is : is otoman bayan and isam the same person or not. And what i wanna say is that if he didn't comment anything here than what cyrano and erdinic are saying can be right. Don't worry .. by sayign GUILTY i didn't want to say we need to punish him in any way for using 2 names ... the only problem would be the way a person uses the 2 identities .. but that's another story and i don't wanna go farther and judge a person .

I also wanna say that it depends what u understand by " crime" .. if u understand not respecting a law.. no matter if it is a law from the state or from a web site.. then i guess it is in the end actualy a crime . You should look if u want at the TC rules , and u will see the first rule is :
<<<1. Multiple registrations are prohibited and are grounds for immediate account deletion. >>>
ups so i guess it can be considered like a crime and i guess the admins here were very good with this person not deleting his accountS .. or maybe they didn't do it cause they want more prooves.

Oooo i tried to have a break from this site - but this is just too delicious! How wonderful and clever of Isam/Ottoman Bayan always to have a "friend" who agrees with him/her!. As long as he/she (?) didn't hurt anyone, then really it is very funny .

Hmmmm - maybe you - ALL OF YOU - are just one person....

I always had the impression that Ottoman was a woman and Isam a man.
Anyway, whatever they are, roommates, friends or just the two personalities of a single person, they succeeded! They got us all wondering what they are and talking about them. Aferin! They became the faces of the week (i still use 'they').
And the oscar goes tooooooo.....

Quoting bod:

No bod,
they are completely the same IP. The IP of my machine is the same as the one I see on that site. Idon't know if this is the case with all static IP's.

I'm checking IP's for months and I havent seen two identical IP's many times.

The person uses static IP. This means that IP remains the same for all times. I have a unique IP adress for two years. Nobody else in the world can have the same IP address as me. Many service providers in the UK work with static IP addresses. The person connects from the UK and has static IP. If you have a dynamic IP then each time you reset your modem (each time you reconnect) you get a new IP adress.

Even if you have dynamic IP there is no possibility for two of our members to have the same same IP at any time. In fact nobody else has.

Here is a fictional IP adress:
66.237.58.204

Assuming there is a user A and a user B. Both have dynamic IP adresses. Currently user A's IP is 66.237.58.204. Again assume they are both members of our web site and are located at the same area. User A establistes connection and gets the IP with...204 and then disconnects. Now user B gets connected. What is the possibility for user B to have the IP adress 66.237.58.204 ?

Statistically I don't think it is possible for two of our members to have the same IP since this would be 1/(255*255)= 1/65025 possibility which is %0.0015 if the two users are using the same service provider and are connection from the same area.

What is the possibility of to different users to have the same IP after one mimute or two minutes?

As far as I know the first three sections from left are assigned to the country and service provider. The last section is given to a certain user. If the service provider uses dynamic IP than you will get for instance a day the number 66.237.58.185 and another day the number 66.237.58.245 The last three digits will change.
Of course you might as well get a completely different adress since your service provider has many different addresses.

O where did all the posts that isam sent have gone , they were funny and amusing, especially the beauty contest, non were abusive so why were they deleted. they added a sense of humour to the site. Now that isam is gone how are we going to get a laugh, does anyone have isam's email address?

The most damning thing is that, since this thread was started, they have both been suspiciously silent.

I think the nail was hit on the head - they are one and the same. Why else would they say nothing on the matter? Certainly from Isam's previous posts I'd expect him/her to defend themself/ves - and vociferously at that!

I absolutely agree with you - what was so dangerous about his presence here? I thought he showed a sense of humour in his posts - not at all threatenting...If so his account would have been deleted, highlighted by Mara's outline of the 'rules' of the site in a previous post.
and nowhere could I find reference that there was any backing up of postings between Ottoman Bayan and isam - as Aenigma mentioned.
I can't see that they have anything to defend themselves from ..... :-S

mara the more you write the more you show how silly you are. Lets learn some english first:
A bridesmaid is a woman who attends the bride at a wedding.
A bride is a woman who is about to be married or has recently been married.

You may want to read the thread you mentioned above again few times before you send any comments. Boop wanted to be the bridsmaid NOT THE bride of Barkin, not Isam.
Have a look at what Barkin said: Of course no, Boop! 'cause you're gonna be the other bride of mine on the same wedding day.

So, now we know who every body will be laughing at. Won't we? lol

Why do you argue because of isam and ottoman bayan so much? I have observed her/his posts for a long time and they are not really adding a lot of thing to the forum. You may have fun because of his posts, but actually he/she has also started some discussions just to turn the place upside down which gives her/him a kind of pleasure.
And I remember deleting a few of his/her posts in my responsibility field probably which most of you could never read.
A girl needed a help of translation and isam was not helping her, he rewrote every line of the girl's post in a very insulting way just to have some fun. Maybe some of you would still have some fun, wouldn't you? But nomatter how much some of you enjoy his/her posts, he/she does some really some unacceptable things. Why should we tolerate his/her immoral behaviours? Do we always have to watch out for his/her posts?
She/he also has written a lot of things some of which are written just to be against Erdinç in a kind of revengeful and unpolite way.
I can stand a lot of things in the name of freedom but I can't tolerate impoliteness and having fun over people in an unproper way.

I know very well what bridesmaid is ( i guess the meaning of the word is clear enough because of the way it is formed) A bridesmaid is a woman who attends the bride at a wedding i guess i didn't say she will be his bride. but maybe is just silly me again and smarty u.
so what i was saying was that she protects him because she is isam's "future wife's" bridesmaid.. and from this i consider here being the bridesmaid of the couple itself, a protector of the cuple , and so a protector of isam too. now u understand miss perfect english??? or u have other comments to make? actualy what u did is exacly what isam did once ( but i have to mention not so bad as isam did ) , when a girl was asking for a translatin and instead of hellping her with the translation, or at least have some decency and leve her alone, he started laughing of her english. ( actualy meltem mltm mentioned about this too in the previous post. actualy i woulden't be surprized if u would also start to correct all my grammer and language mistakes from all the messages i've sended in... it's been almost 1 year since I've been here.

Anyway darling continue defending him... not that he wants to be defended .. as far as i've seen .. or maybe u've finally got his email address. PS : if u wanna talk to him u can just send him private messages here.. cause if u have't noticed there actualy is a mail here... amazing... U don't need to write on forums does anyone have isam's email address Don't get me wrong.. i don't wanna give u lessons and look smart by teaching u how to use TC.
God... i feel like this isam is devideing the site into 2... he turns people one against teh others mainly because of the topics he argues on with erdinc. Things used to be a lot better when he wasn't here... or at least this is how i feel. In summer and autumn it was a lot better here. o one was arguing and was a lot more literature. i want the old TC back

Why are you persisting in a pointless style of argument then if this is the case?
For goodness sake - things are not so serious - lighten up, and stop accusing others of being antagonistic - you are doing no-one any favours - least of all yourself.
That is all I have to say on this out of hand subject.
