Turkish Grammar-6: Verbs-6

Our suffix is "-ecek/-acak". The personal suffixes are 1st type. You should remember the combinative "y" and softening of consonant. We´re gonna use them in this case.

"e" of "-me" and "e" of "-ecek" are vowels.

sanmak (to suppose, to think)

ya─čmur (the rain)

ya─čmak (to fall from the sky (for meteorological events))

San─▒r─▒m ya─čmur ya─čacak (I think it´s going to rain)


gelecek y─▒l=seneye (next year)


ile (1with, 2by)

yurt (1the homeland, 2the dormitory)

d─▒┼č (the outside)

gitmek (to go)

birkaç (a few)

ay (1the moon (Ay), 2the month)

ora (that place, there)

okumak (1to read, 2to study (to take education at a school))


yurt d─▒┼č+─▒ (indefinite posessive determiner)---------->yurt d─▒┼č─▒ (the abroad)

yurt d─▒┼č+─▒+a(dat.)--------------------------------->yurt d─▒┼č─▒na (to the abroad)

yurt d─▒┼č+─▒+da(loc.)--------------------------------->yurt d─▒┼č─▒nda (in the abroad)

Erasmus+le---------------------------------------->Erasmus´la (by Erasmus)

git+ecek------------------------------>gidecek (he will go)

ora+da(loc.)-------------------------->orada (there)

oku+acak----------------------------->okuyacak (he will study)


Seneye Erasmus´la yurt d─▒┼č─▒na gidecek ve birkaç ay orada okuyacak (He will go abroad next year by Erasmus and study there for a few months)


Both of "u" and "a" were vowels, and "y" came between them as combinative letter.


yar─▒n (tomorrow)

erken (early)

kalkmak (1to stand up, 2to get up)


kalk+ma(negative)+acak+─▒m-------------->kalkmayaca─č─▒m (I won´t get up)


Yar─▒n erken kalkmayaca─č─▒m. (I won´t get up early tomorrow)


"a" of "-ma" and "a" of "-acak" are vowels. The task of "y" is to link both of them to each other.

izle+me+ecek mi+sin------------------->izlemeyecek misin?


Maç─▒ izlemeyecek misin? (Won´t you watch the match?)


üniversite (the university)

ne zaman? (when?)

mezun olmak (to graduate)


üniversite+den(abl.)------------>üniversiteden (from the university)

mezun ol+acak+lar------------->mezun olacaklar (they will graduate)


Üniversiteden ne zaman mezun olacaklar? (When will they graduate from the university?)
