-den -3, -dik -6, i癟in -2

Like "-den" and "-den daha" are the same in comparison, "-den" and "-den dolay覺" are the same, too in the expression of cause. The meaning doesn´t change even if you don´t use "dolay覺" as long as an ambiguity mayn´t happen.

ileri (the forward)

görmek (to see)

 

yamur+dan (dolay覺) ------------------->yamurdan [dolay覺] (due to the rain, because of rain, owing to the rain)

yol+覺n ileri+i---------------------------->yolun ilerisi (the forward of the road)

yolun ilerisi+i(accusative)--------------->yolun ilerisini

gör+eme+yor+idi+k--------------------->göremiyorduk (we weren´t able to see)

 

Yamurdan yolun ilerisini göremiyorduk. (We couldn´t see the forward of the road due to the rain.)

ders (the lesson)

çal覺mak (1to work, 2to study,...)

 

gürültü+den (dolay覺)------------->gürültüden dolay覺 (because of the noise, due to the noise, owing to the noise)

çal覺+ama+yor------------------>çal覺am覺yor (he can´t study (present continuous))

 

Çocuk gürültüden ders çal覺am覺yor. (The child can´t study lesson due to the noise.)

=Çocuk gürültüden dolay覺 ders çal覺am覺yor.

 

aç覺klamak (to explain)

say覺n (dear (formal respect, not sincerely))

müdür (the director)

teekkür etmek (to thank)

 

aç覺kla+ma(noun)+lar(plural)+覺(possessive)------>aç覺klamalar覺 (his explanations)

aç覺kla+ma+lar+覺+dan dolay覺-------------------->aç覺klamalar覺ndan dolay覺 (because of his explanations)

müdür+miz+e(dative)-------------------------->müdürümüze (to our director)

et+yor+iz------------------------------------->ediyoruz

 

Aç覺klamalar覺ndan dolay覺 say覺n müdürümüze teekkür ediyoruz. (We thank our dear director because of his explanations.)

Anlamad覺覺mdan tekrar tekrar soruyorum. (I´m asking again and again because I don´t understand.)

gör+dik+ce---------------------------->gördükçe (as long as seeing)

ol+d覺k+m+dan (dolay覺)------------------>olduumdan [dolay覺] (because I am)

gurur duy+yor+覺m---------------------->gurur duyuyorum (i´m feeling proud)

 

Baar覺lar覺n覺 gördükçe aabeyin olduumdan gurur duyuyorum. (I´m feeling proud to be your brother as long as I see your successes.)

 

If you use "için" with the pattern of "-dik", it gives the reason meaning, too.

 

Let´s convert the previous sentences:

 

bil+me+dik+m için---------------------->bilmediim için (because I didn´t/don´t know)

 

Letonca bilmediim için alt yaz覺y覺 da anlayam覺yorum. (I also can´t understand the subtitle because I can´t speak Latvian.)
