Very smart....get your diploma first; not for your family, but for your own good !

Ah yes, I´m getting it for myself But it seems much easier for me to explain myself by saying ´my family wants me to´ ... The real reason (If I get married I want to do it good and have two weddings with a lot of everything, so we need to save money for a LONG time) seems a bit spoiled

I´m a non-smoker, but I never minded people smoking, except for restaurants. I think the smell of smoke ruins the dishes. But now that smoking is banned, I really enjoy the fresh air! I don´t have red eyes anymore after going a night out, my hair and clothes don´t smell like smoke anymore, it´s great! I do feel a bit bad sometimes for the people who are standing outside in the cold, but...oh well, shhhh happens.

Oh, and I did tell my partner that I would want him to quit somewhere in the future, the first week we were dating. I thinks it´s fair to say that at the beginning, not after a year or so That way you both now what your expectations are. I saw too many people get hurt from smoking, and I love him, so I want to get old and wrinkly with him VERY old Lucky me, he quit a half year ago!

Talking about Arabic words/names in Turkish, I had a big discussion about wether it is really ramaZan or ramaDan, which sounds the most like the original Arabic...Anybody know? I soooo want to be right about this one

If your partner is Moslem and is telling you that his religion does not allow him to marry you, he is either sincerely misinformed or a regular liar.

Best you two seek advise an imam in a local mosque, together. He should be able to explain you the ropes.

Well, it´s a good thing that he doesn´t say that than, isn´t it I explained to him that my family wouldn´t be thrilled if I got married before I got my final university diploma, hence the not marrying yet. It has nothing to do with him being muslim and me being something else

My partner always says "nooo, nobody said anything to me about me dating a Western girl, everybody loves you, it´s wonderfullll, grrrrreat!" ...hard time believing that He did have a problem with me not being able to make Turkish tea the first time he asked me for tea... but that´s all he ever expressed to me about cultural problems

No, that´s not saying that everybody in Turkey is muslim, that is just plain math.

Let´s say, all muslim men can marry non-muslim women, and all muslim women can not marry non-muslim men. If then the vast VAST majority if Turkish people are muslim (which is a fact, not a stereotype) simple chance calculation would predict more Turkish men with non-muslim women then Turkish women with non-muslim men. And at the same time, this fact would also mean that they can find more non-muslim from abroad then non-muslims from the country itself... did you get it Ah, math...numbers... i LOVE IT!

But I did not say all Turkish men are muslim
