Hi Guys,

"Konustugumuz kadarý ile Türkçe´n gayet güzel"

I think I get the drift of the above, but would love someone to translate the exact meaning so I can get to grips with the tenses etc.

Many thanks

Laura

To be honest, I think I'd raise eyebrows if an English guy asked for money to buy a car so soon after meeting!

I guess we shouldn't nit-pick, Sasi may be a lucky one but my advice - BE CAREFUL!!!!

Unfortunate to say, precident tells us that the guys who ask for money at the start of a relationship are usually those who have got 18 women on the go from every week of the summer...

IMO - If he needs a car, surely he should save like everyone else?!?!?

Thanks everyone, I'm still on cloud 9!!

Susie, which agency in Antlaya did you use? Apparently all applications have to be made at a company called Setur now which can be found in most cities. We handed ours into the Antalya branch. I think they charge about 40ytl and I cannot understand what for (other then sending the package to Istanbul which we were quite capable of doing ourselves).

I spent quite a lot of time compiling everything for our application and when we gave it to Setur they told us not to send half of it. I truely believe if we didn't send it, we wouldn't have had the good news today. Next time I'm there I intend to have a word with them. I suppose they would make more money if we were unsuccessful and had to reapply!!!

Only prob I have now is he wont tell me when he's coming over (he has a obsession with surprises). I know it will def be in time for xmas but I'm in Panto from 13th-16th and I suspect he may give me a shock sitting in the front row!

Just another thought too - EasyJet now fly to Istanbul for silly prices like £30. A connecting flight should only cost about 60YTL (£25) so if you don't mind connecting that could be even better.

Flying to Turkey frequently has taught me to tighten the purse strings ;o)

Go to www.skyscanner.net, flights from London to Dalaman on 19/02 - 26/02 is just £111.46 with flythomascook!

If you could find cheap accomodation then you could save a bit!

I don't think this is limited to Turkey!!

I usually find learning a little of the language and using it avoids people scamming you. In fact, I usually find the opposite - if I say as much as I can in Turkish, I'll usually get some kind of discount for making the effort!

Ironically, I was in Gothenburg, Sweden, last month and took a taxi. The driver was Turkish so I started talking to him. He suddenly switched off the meter and charged the minimum fare which was at least a quarter of what it should have been!
