Hi Alameda,

Thanks for the advice. I will look at it again when I get nearer Turkey. I will be entering from the north-east  mid to late June and then spending a lot of time there (Kars/Erzerum/Van) before moving west. I have been to Cappadocia before but will revisit along with Konya. My particular interests are Sufi shrines/places and carpets! I will be ending up in Istanbul visiting my daughter in law´s family.

Regards and thank you for replying,

Samarkand

I don´t know if anyone would be interested but I am now in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and thought it might interest people who use the site if I tried to give  occasional thoughts and  descriptions as I travel towards Turkey. I will be mostly in the Turkish world (Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan) before arriving in Turkey from Georgia. Maybe some people could suggest places for me to see or just ask me to go there and write about it!! I´ve only been here for two days so far and although Uzbeki (which I intend to learn some of while I am here in May) is very similar to Turkish, I would have got further in the few conversations I have attempted if I had learned Russian instead!!

I am confused about when to put an ending for a direct object - does it depend on which verb you use?

For example in the homework writing sentences in the future, it´s O.K. to say ´Muzik dinleceðim´,´futbol seyredeceðim´ and ´Kitap okuyacaðým´ but you have to say ´kitaplarýmý deðiþtirmek istiyorum´ .

Please enlighten me someone or refer me to a lesson I have overlooked!

Thank you, Samarkand.
