can anyone help me on this? if i wanted to say something like 'do you want me to go?', would it be 'gitmek beni istiyor musun?' because i think i remember sending a text saying something like this and my bf said it didnt make sense? so is there another way to say 'me to...'?

In this thread Erdinç wrote "birkaç yeni başlık açmak istiyorum. Şimdi pratik yapmak çok kolay. Sen Türkçe öğrenmek istiyor musun?" which I have been attempting to translate. It doesn't seem appropriate to post my attempts in that thread so I have started a new thread.

I am far from certain that I have the translations right and have several questions about this!

birkaç yeni başlık açmak istiyorum
"I want to open some new threads"

If I have got this right, why is it başlık and not başlıklar as it is plural?

Şimdi pratik yapmak çok kolay
"Now practice is very easy"

Sen Türkçe öğrenmek istiyor musun?
"Do you want to learn Turkish?"

Am I somewhere close???

yes they are all right, number 1 says 'i want to open a few new threads', and baslik doesnt need to be plural because 'birkac' - a few - already shows its plural.

i think 'dost' is more of a very close friend, or a best friend and 'arkadas' is just a friend.

maybe u mean, "geldim" ??

which can mean either "i came" or "im coming"

Are you sure???
geldim (first person past tense of verb to come) would translate as "I came" or "I was coming"

Surely "I'm coming" would be present continuous tense
"geliyorum"

sometimes if turkish people are coming straight away they said 'geldim' instead of 'geliyorum', and also for example if they are late coming they say 'gec geldim' = i came late.

Hi again, i am 16 from stoke on trent. I met my love on holiday, the usual scenaro. He seems different but I don't know. I met him one year ago and have seen him three times. He now plans to come england in January. I hope it works out. He seems honest and has told me certain problems in his life and he just seems so genuine but I dont know. The trust is hard for us. How long have you been with your boyfriend?

5 and a half months and counting i liked him for about 4 months before that so i still cant really beleive were together!
