Thread: PKK declares unilateral Ramadan cease-fire

I think the real demand for a cease fire came from Kurdish NGOs. People simply had enough of this war and they want peace..

There is also a belief in Kurdish side that PKK completed  its mission as they think  ´Kurdish movement does not need PKK anymore´. As one of the Kurdish intellects said ´if Diyarbakir was to be invaded by the USA army and there was not PKK, Kurds wont say yes to a cheap solution. PKK has to trust this reality more than they trust the arms´

All those, stone throwing children were proving that for a long time anyway...

But how did we come to this position?

a Turkish article (its title is: unbearable weightiness  of ignoring PKK)

http://www.taraf.com.tr/roni-margulies/makale-pkk-yi-takmamanin-dayanilmaz-agirligi.htm

Another interesting analysis from Ahmet Insel:

http://www.radikal.com.tr/Radikal.aspx?aType=RadikalEklerDetay&ArticleID=1013612&Date=18.08.2010&CategoryID=42

He says :

Infact, the thing which made PKK and Ocalan as a central force in Kurdish political movement is the ideology of the national state security  and a hypocritical nationalism which feeds it.. Ideology of Ataturk nationalism which claims it is nothing to do with ethnicity but shows a sheer ethnic nationalism..

what is the different between turkish yogart and greek yogart

Well they are the same really.. Yogurt is Turkish invention but they call it Greek yogurt in Greece and in many EU countries... I guess it is just successful marketing..

if you are to use maybe 10 peppers for this recipe how much yoghurt would you mix it with?

150-200 gr of yogurt should be enough.... It should be kind of thick paste..

We, Turks, normally (and naturally) will know how much yogurt to use and we call it ´göz karari´. But since you are  a foreigner, you use measuring!!

Quick recipies to impress your other half (of course, Turkish other half )

Mashed peppers (biber ezme)

10 peppers+2 cloves of garlic + yoghurt + olive oil

- Buy some Turkish peppers  about 10 of them..

- Get rid of their seeds and the stalks

- Roast them under the grill

- Smash the garlic first in the morter and then smash the pappers with them..(easy!! dont smash like there is not tomorrow!! leave some bits)

- Have some proper thick Turkish yogurt (Greek yogurt will do too. But not organic cheap yogurts with serious amount of water in it) and mix it with a bit of water..add some salt to your taste

- Mix all of them and then place into the serving dish..

- Drizzle some olive oil on the top..

Afiyet olsun

bence korkuyodum

Doesn´t this mean ´I think I was scared´   ?

I interpreted that word as ´bende korkuyordum´ (considering the text is full of mistakes and ´c´ is just below ´d´ on keyboards.. )

I was scared too, I was saying ´I am hardly looking after myself, how can I look after the second person´. Look, now I am married. I have a daughter and I will have a son. The life itself is showing you the path.. as long as you have courage to take the path.

demekki anesine de soylemis konusmamasini hemso git tr ye inan daha iyi olcak senin cicin

so, she said to her mother not to talk .. Hemso(my country man) go to Turkey.. You believe me, it will be better for you..

hemso benden kac ay calisamadim yengen calisiyodu iliskide bunlar normaldir olur boyle seyler gurur yapmasaydin keske belki sen haklisin hersey ona agirgelmeye baslamisti zorlaniyodu belkide ayrilmayi belki cozum sandi ama baska yede olabilir  dusunmuyo muydun evlenmeyi

Hemso(my country man), I could not work for a long time..But my wife was working..These things happen in relations, they are normal. You should not make it a pride thing maybe..Maybe you are right, maybe everything was getting heavy for her..she was doing it with difficulty, maybe, she thought the seperation was a solution. But it might be something else.. were you not thinking to get married?

Along those lines..

ps..will you tell girl that that is enough.. It was just a PS3!!!

...

Why did I tell this? 11 years past, a lot of memories have been forgetten, naturally. And now, scientist forecast another and worse earthquake disaster and this time is much closer to Istanbul, the heart of Türkiye.

What has changed in 11 years? Will we experience the same fear and pains or this time, are we really ready?

thx

turkishcobra//

I dont think much changed during last 11 years.. I think they have been strengthening many structures, specially public buildings like schools etc but there are still many buildings out there.. I think the latest guess is there will be around 30.000 deaths

This is not fate, this is not god´s will  and the last, making earthquake resistant buildings is not a rocket science!!

But somehow, it is not happening!!

We know it will happen, we know people will die but we are unable to stop it!

Look lady. My thread is about martyrs who inspire you not about who is good or bad. Please if you don´t have any favorite martyrs don´t sabotage my thread. Only elenagabriela wrote her favorite martyr "Giordano Bruno" who is a very brave philosopher. Maybe people who read this thread will discover great minds if you stop sabotaging my thread. Maybe you can discover too. Click the names and see how great minds and courageous people they are.
