Quoting tomac

Hi - can I have a question regarding this sentence?

ayna güneş olmuş gündüzler ile seviyordum seni

3rd person singular ending in word "aynası" suggests that sun became a mirror of something - is it "gündüzler" (sun became mirror of days/daytimes) or "güneş" (sun became mirror of itself)? Or perhaps both options are possible? Or maybe "-sı" refers it to word from one of preceding sentences? Or another answer ?

Yes, it is " gündüzler" that is referred. The sun as if became mirror of the days. The poet forced the limits of  his imagination bit far..

Very good answers . They all correct ! Aferin sana !

The last question was about Noun Compounds which you can check this lesson here ---> http://www.turkishclass.com/turkish_lesson_35

The correct answer for the last question is ; A) Kapının kolu  ---> The handle of the door. [ this is definite noun compound, since there is a specific handle which belongs to a definite object [kapı].

Quoting Poeta

ben seni
nefesin nefesime sığındığında sevdim

mürekkep siyahı akan kelimelerde sevdim seni
varlığında dahi yokluğunu düşünerek sevdim
aynası güneş olmuş gündüzler ile seviyordum seni
namlunun ucunda kör kurşunlara rağmen sevdim

my try

I loved you when your breath took refuge in my breath.

I loved you in the words flowing  like inky black colour..

Although you were exist, I loved you by thinking your absence..

I loved you with the days in which the sun became mirror.

I loved you despite the stray bullets in the gun barrel..

1. Kulak misafiri olmak

2.Çalışacaksın ki kazanasın.

3. ışık-ses

4.D) ressam

It was just a try,thanks

1.Which idiom below , meaning  "Dikkatle dinlemek” [listening carefully]  ?

A) Kulakları çınlamak
B) Kulağını açmak
C) Kulağına küpe olmak
D) Kulak misafiri olmak

2. In which of the following sentences   “ki”  functions as pronoun ?

A) Çalışacaksın ki kazanasın.
B) Okuldaki olayı unutamıyorum.
C) Sabahki haberlerde izledim.

D) Babamınki evde kaldı.

 3. which of the following word couple is different than others ?

A) ışık-ses
B) özgür-hür
C) cimri-pinti

D) yoksul-fakir

4. Which of the following word has NO opposite meaning ?

A) gel
B) in
C) yüksek
D) ressam

In first question, the correct answer should be " kulağını açmak ". This idiom means " listening to someone very carefully ".

Kulağını aç da beni iyi dinle. ---> [Open your ears and ] listen to me carefully.

whereas, "kulak misafiri olmak" means " to listen [hear] to people´s conversations [sometimes intentionally] by chance [incidentally].

Ali ile Ayşe konuşurlarken kulak misafiri oldum. ---> I heard Ali and Ayşe´s conversation while they were talking.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Pronoun is basically a word that takes the place of noun. So, in our example, " Babamınki " is " the one that my father has "[ something that belongs to my father´ ]

for instance , instead of saying " Babamın anahtarı evde kaldı."  we can say " Babamınki evde kaldı." [ we all took our keys with us but we left my father´s key at home]

By adding "ki", it functioned as "pronoun",

Therefore the correct answer is ; D) Babamınki evde kaldı.

---------------------------------------------------------------

B,C and D are  synonymous words whereas  in A ---> ses [sound] - ışık[ light] are not related words.

Therefore , the correct answer should be "A"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

4.  A) gel  ----> git

     B) in   -----> çık
     C) yüksek ---> alçak
     D) ressam  ---> this word [artist] has no opposite meaning.

So, the correct answer should be " D".

Good try Lamda !
