No, you cannot get the 5 year Visa at the airport. This needs to be done at a Turkish Consulate or Embassy.

Can you just get it as a tourist? Or are there extra demands, like working and/or living in Turkey? Is it available for not UK-residents, because I never heard about this in Holland.

After all most a month I got a reply from the Turkish consulate here in Rotterdam about my visa-question: is a one month visa an error or not? No, it is not. The customs officer at the border decides whether you get a one month visa or a three months visa, is their answer. Well, but the officer in Antalya never asked me anything or said anything.
Therefore I think every tourist should pay attention to what kind of visa-sticker they get and if necessary ask for another one.

This reminds me my Irish experience. I applied for one month visa. They turned it down. They said make it 15 days and we could grant one. so did I. And when entering, I asked for more from the officer at the border. He allowed me one month stay in Ireland.

I don't understand this. I'm an EU citizen and I've never applied to get a 3 month tourist visa and I've also never paid for it.
But I have paid more than 300 ytl for just one month extension of my tourist visa.
In the long run I will probably be living in Turkey and I'm really curious to know more about the 5 year visa - I've never heard of it before. How can you get it? Also I don't understand how it can cost $65, when I paid 300 ytl for a single month. That's unlogic. There must be a catch somewhere?
Can anyone give me more information about the 5 year visa, please?

Apply for a visa? I just give my passport at the border plus 10 euro and get my visa. Normally three months and that is also what the website of the Turkish Embassy here in Holland says. But this time I got one for just 1 month and paid also 10 euro. Because I'm going again within 3 months it means I have to buy a new visa now. No big deal, but I just wanted to know. And if I am in Turkey and wanted to stay longer than 3 months I just hop to a Greek island for 1 day, pay 10 euro again and that's it. Apparently even the EU-countries are not all the same, I think 300 YTL is a lot of money!

Yes exactly! I didn't think that EU citizens had to pay anything (although €10 may be just a symbolic amount it's still a lot of money alltogether). Danish citizens don't have to pay anything to enter.
But when you're applying for a long-term visa it's another deal. It was a real pain the one time I applied for a 1 month extension.
I have been thinking about going to Greece when my visa expires but in the long run it's too expensive.
