This is because a child's small hands have to hold the bunny round the body, so the nearest point of entry into the mouth is the ears

Well... I don't know why bunny maybe it has something to do with spring time?
And what they are celebrating is the Resurrection of Christ... a symbol for Christians of liberation from and forgiveness of sins. Maybe someone else can give a better explanation...

The first eggs given at easter were birds eggs. These eggs where painted bright colours to give then furthur meaning as a gift. An anglo saxon ledgend tell how the saxon goddress Eostre found a woundered bird and transformed it into an hare, so that it could survive the winter. The hare found that it could lay eggs, so it decorated these each spring and left them as an offering to the goddess. For christians, Easter Eggs symbolise new life.Eggs have been a symbol of continuing life and resurrection since pre Christian Springs celibrations

right,Easter is the biggest of Christian festivals, more important than Christmas, rebirth of life, resurrection of Christ, the victory of unconditional love...power of belief in good,
celebrated in different ways in different countries but always with the belief in immortality....
as bunny tradition goes explanation here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_Bunny
in my country celebrated totally different from the rest of Europe

Easter - the meaning

This can explain the meaning of Easter and the relevance of the Ressurection. I can also recommend the movie The Passion of Christ - although not a full description and very detailed account of the suffering and crucifixion of Christ.

Happy Easter to everyone here ! Peace and Love.

Ever wonder why Easter moves around from March to April? This year it's the earliest anyone alive today will ever experience it.

"Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox (hich is March 20. This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why Easter moves around on our calendar. Based on the above information, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22) but that is exceedingly rare.

This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above). And none of us has ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here are the facts:

"The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now.). The last time, it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).

"The next it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!"
