Quoting magnadea: Quoting Lapinkulta: what is happening to Modern European???They are good at telling civilization to other nations???
EU has to change or revised their laws to prevent children abuse...if this happen in my country, EU would add another step to Turkey for joining EU... |
This is a joke!!!! Of course there will always be maniacs in any country. However, there are very clear laws about child abuse and they will be applied, of course.
Please let me know when people are not afraid in your country to report child abuse by family members and marital rape, and show me court cases to prove it, and then perhaps we can see Turkey become part of the "modern Europe" you mention |
this kind of event is not often here in Turkey so it is difficult to make a proof.EU has their own laws on human rights that is just for european(one Turkish young has recently died at police office)...We turks strictly protest children abuses in EU..

I'm sure Turkey, like every country, has child abuse. There's actually a big campaign going on here at the moment with reporting child abuse anonymously. It appeared that there's a lot more going on than is actually thought...

Are you really so naive, or just trying to maintain the faultless idyllic image that you strive to present of Turkey on this website?
Incest and child abuse goes back to the beginning of time. The difference is WE NEVER USED TO HEAR ABOUT IT because it was culturally unacceptable to discuss it. There are many historical accounts in the UK of children telling their parents that their fathers were abusing them, and the mother scoulding the child and telling them to keep quiet for fear of it bringing dishonour on the family.
Thankfully, in SOME countries (parts of the EU included) this is no longer the case and this subject is no longer taboo. The more it is discussed and acknowledged, the more likely abused children will come forward and report abuse.
The fact that you believe it does not happen in Turkey, is worrying indeed. It only proves that your culture still finds the subject unacceptable and taboo.
It goes hand in hand with your attitude to homosexuals.

But not in the Islamic East? Forced marriages of under 16s in the UK has risen considerably in the last few years. Why? Because of the increase in the muslim population. Children just "disappear" from school one day and are never seen again. If this situation exists in the UK muslim population, I really dread to think what it is like in 100% Islamic countries. This is acceptable to you?

Browsing the western media and finding a piece of sick news have been very common in Turkey by the Islamists and by anti EU group..
Then they would go: 'look..how morally sick these people are'.
If they are the islamists they would add..'is this the culture we want to become?stick with islam..put your head scarfs on'
If they are anti EU they would say: 'do we want to become like them? '
Of course, they forget that 'almost everyday', there is a sick piece of news all over the channels and media in Turkey.
(we can go piece by piece/news by news if you like)
So the moral of the story is that 'this type of criticism of the west is not very nice and a bit pathetic'

if u are Turkish, see sick and wrong news about Turkey in everwhere, u have right to defense your country..it is also easy to be affected.
anyways Im supporter of Turkey's EU membership...
In Turkey, if one person is a adulator to European, firstly they start to slandering Turkish pll,history,goverment...orhan pamuk has won nobel award with this way...u cant make more with this way coz european started to learn what kind of persons they are
if u wanna be like european, try to be like what u are, no need to be adulator
but there are also some sick mentality ppl, they always use religion to accuse of others.

Simply this is because modern european culture, the age of having sex in europe is about 14-15 between teens and it is forbidden in İslam having sex without getting married(btw this does not mean i approve early age marriages), so families wants their children to marry as soon as being not affected from european culture. Do not dread to think how it is in islamic countries it is not so different than so-called modern europe actually there are more gays in radical İslamic countries, they are more moderner in this field
