Can somebody explain to me how a mod can call a member as pkk's lapdog?

Is this NOT a vile and primitive attack?

what are your thoughts?

Well,to answer the first question, then none should call any member like that.
To answer the others,im afraid we would need more data about it first.
İ even dont understand the title, what thread has been locked ?
Or are you demanding to lock one ?!

It is definitely a vile comment, for anybody, not just a mod...

Last month Germany banned Kurdish television station Roj TV, which Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble described as being a mouthpiece for the PKK. Germany also extradited two PKK militants to Turkey last year.

Finally!!!! A little too late I'd say, but better late then never. Is the west waking up from apathy? I doubt... but we will see.

oh my god! is this cat speaking

I was thinking the same thing. What will her PKK lapdog think of this coming from her?

Well the reference to Cat's PKK lapdog was unprovoked and evidently designed to rile someone, although I didn't realise the target until I read the counter response. Seems some "button pressing" has been going on here and now the result is never satisfactory for anyone.

So, can the discussion carry on without the flack please because I for one would like to learn more about the political history of Turkey without the personal battles permeating events. I am learning how emotive the issues are and that's important, because no historical text can convey it in quite the same way. But discussions are often left hanging in the air because they get out of hand and personal.

I really do want more meaningful discussion so that I can make more informed decisions, for myself, about these issues. I can be lazy at times and the discussions also help to make other reading material on the subject easier to digest.

Maybe you misunderstood me. I did not say you were PKK lapdog. Yes. this would be very bad for me to say.
I said you were Catwoman's lapdog.
Maybe not such a bad job...

Anyway...even I was shocked at how quickly my comment was responded to.
1. I agreed with Sui. I was surprised by Catwomans comment.
2. I went out last night and had several Efes in my favorite nisantasi pub. So when I got home, I was having a little fun on TC. I did not mention any names so I do find it funny that my intended subject knew exactly who I was refering to.
3. Anyway, maybe it wasn't so nice but it wasn't exactly horrible either.

Mr. Thehandsom. I think this is bringing more attention to the incident than just leaving the thread dead. But since you insist, I apologize for naming you as catwoman's lapdog...
Tchuss...

Is that excuse supposed to make your lack of taste any more palatable for your 'intended subject'??

This has reminded me two Turkish sayings:
One of them is: 'insanlar ne olursa olsun, nerede olursa olsun hamlar ve olgunlar diye ikiye ayrilirlar' in a quick translation it will be 'where ever or who ever they are, people are split into two categories: mature and unrefined'

The other one is 'ozuru kabahatindan buyuk' (the excuse is more despicable than the crime itself)

This is not an excuse, this is simply insisting on being vile and crude.

Simply rejected.

Memory lapse Keith??? OK no names were mentioned but from past history you knew he would know exactly who you meant. Extremely insulting comment I thought.

I'm reminded of a Bogart quote, having read your explanation:

“Things are never so bad they can't be made worse.”

and for all of us there's his famous line from Casablanca:

“It doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people doesn't add up to a hill of beans in this crazy world. "

The word "little" is not meant in a derogatory sense btw.

Of course there's that old British proverb:

Biting and scratching is Scots folk's wooing.

So we all love each other really But we must not forget the Australian Aboriginal words of warning:

"Those who play at bowls must look out for rubbers."

I've got to go now so . . .

"May you have warmth in your igloo, oil in your lamp, and peace in your heart."

(Eskimo proverb)

(nearest I could get to an eskimo)

Yes - but you didn't delete the post containing your quote did you? So it was still there for everyone to see. Thehandsom is not 'giving it life', in my opinion he has every right to be deeply offended by your comment - apology or no apology.

I think I have not explained myself clearly here.
Let me try:
(First, I have to mention what I believe : -sometimes, 'being neutral /or silent' means sharing the GUILT- if there is any.)
It all started with PKK titled thread posted by Ros.
When you look at it, everybody can see that I was NOT posting 'anything' at all into that thread.
But when I looked at it at some stage, I saw this message from the mod:
"I was thinking the same thing. What will her PKK lapdog think of this coming from her?".
I knew it was for me (and the mod accepted that fact in above posts in this thread).

Now.the forum rules say:

8. Do not post vulgar, hateful, threatening, derogatory, racist or obscene comments on this site. Any such content will be deleted. The user account of the author of such messages may also be deleted if it repeats.
9. ..... Personal attacks or insults directed towards other users will not be tolerated. Basically if you don't have anything nice to say then just don't say it all....

As an ordinary user who contributes to the site as much as anybody else, I think, I have right to ask to mods and admins some questions.

According to me, when I was not posting anything to that thread, the mod naming me "her PKK lapdog" out of blue is a quite low level attack.

It is against the rule no 8 "you have written". The comment is "vulgar and hateful".

And it is obviously a "personal attack and insult" and against the rule 9 too.

Now my questions:

can you say that "his comments were NOT personal attack and NOT vulger /hateful"?

If you do, can you tell me what is the meaning of 'personal attack'?

If you say 'no it WAS a personal attack and violates with the above rules', are you going to do anything about it?

Thehandsom, I don't think there is any question here whether it was a personal attack that was hateful, or not. It was and I don't think you received a proper apology for it either. As an admin, I apologize to you for this and I am going to make it clear to mods and admins that such behavior is unacceptable for them (especially for them), and I know that I have breached this rule myself in the past. I apologize for that as well (to various people).
Sincere apologies from the site admins.
