You should use your "brain power" (everybody has it), not anything else and stop it immediately. I know many people around doing it without any help. They just decided and did it.

It is not "cold Turkey", but "cold turkey"! The "turkey" in the phrase does not refer to the country, but to the bird.
The phrase "cold turkey" describes the skin´s reaction to heroin withdrawal. As an addict stops using the drug, blood is drawn toward the internal organs, leaving the skin to resemble a cold, plucked turkey. The phrase is dated to 1910 and it originally meant "without preparation", referring to the ease of making a dish of cold turkey.

Thank you for the Alamedaish link. I am aware, of course, what "cold turkey" means but mistyped turkey with a capital ´T´ out of habit on this site!!!!!
It was a genuine error and (Dearest Si++++++++ please note) was NOT in anyway meant to offend Turkish people! Actually the turkey bird is named after Turkey, not the other way round, so you should not be so sensitive about it!
The trouble with being sarcastic 80% of the time is that people never believe you when you are serious!

I believe you
Only sort of surprised youre smoking? Anyway good luck! Saying you´re a ´non smoker´ may sound funny, but it does help!
I just ´postponed´ every cigarette ý felt like taking. For example if I felt the urge I pushed myself to take it 10 minutes later etc. In the end I was able to postpone the breakfast cigarette till the noon, and now I am at the teabreak That is the hardest to quit and I still take one ocasionally, but not the way I used to. Set myself an ultimatum and sticking to it!

Thanks DK
Yes, I think your way is the BEST way. If I tell myself "no more" I will get all emotional about it hehe. I also decided to leave ONE cigarette in the house, because I sometimes notice that the craving for a smoke is often much worse if you don´t have any. If it is there I can tell myself "you can maybe have it later" and just keep postponing it.
I hope so anyway...
