Unlike you, I`m openminded enough to see that any religion promotes violence, because a religion by definition is all about authority and the self interest of a group of people.

and unlike melekwhatever, I`m not an hypocrite to say that it`s only islam or christianity that legitimizes violence.

thinking that any religion promotes violence is open mindedness? you are constantly contradicting yourself. You say that Islam has nothing to do to promote violence, and here you are telling that religion promotes violence.

and if you think that religion by definition si all about authority and the self-interest of a group of people, then your definition of religion is very limited and wrong.

definition of religion:

  • A strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny.
  • An institution to express belief in a divine power.
  • A belief concerning the supernatural, sacred, or divine, and the practices and institutions associated with such belief.

Religion in general is a belief of a higher-power. God, Allah, or Whoever.

If you are talking about authority that promotes self-interest, i would easily point out politics, or government. Not religion. Anyway, there is no point in speaking with you. Your knowledge and your understanding is very limited.

Yeah, you´re right, all religions legitmize violence. I´m shaking already thinking of the Bhuddist suicide bombers.

If you think it`s so non violent why don`t you become a buddhist priest and go break the rules of the religion in somehwere like Thailand. That would be a good way to test how nonviolent it is.

btw. why don`t you point out christians as a reference to nonviolence but buddhists? oh is it because christianity promotes violence? what a shame.

I´ll agree to disagree with you here. It is the humane people that can pick the good parts out of the "holy books" and ignore that violent, despicable parts that may SOMETIMES give religion a good name. I´d invite you to read the Bible or the Q´uran sometimes from the perspective of what you´d have to do and believe if you were actually to follow the rules in the books. Then we can talk about twisting the religion.

I do read the Bible Melek, and i am studying it. I am also currently, reading the Q´uran. It is surprising how many people misunderstand what it is written in these books as a promotion of violence.

when did I say islam has nothing to do with violence? just quote one sentence and I will apologize if you can.

and if you want to learn the true definition of religion, I would recommend you to read "the market place of christianity". dictionary is not a scholarly and good source for that.

312 - Official Gaza toll (source: Hamas)
56 civilians in Gaza (source: UN, hospitals)
2 civilians in Israel (source: Israel police)

150 palestinians for 1 israeli

the problem with you Tami, is how you quickly discredit any definitions, or arguments that did not come from you.

Like i said, there is no point in discussing with you, in your own little mind, and in your own little world, you will always think you are always right.

I know you will always want to have the last word.... Go ahead... {#lang_emotions_satisfied_nod}

It is so sad that many peole were lost. To me, it is not about the number of Palestinians or Israelis lost. It is about the number of innocent people that were involved with this tragedy.

if you can`t come up with a responce to my arguments, that indicates, in fact, who owns a little mind. enjoy it!
