I have been giving this some thought for 2009.  Ok, here are mine;

1. Get Organized

2. Learn Something New (thinking about making handmade things and selling them)

3. Volunteer either with the elderly or disabled children

4. Stop taking nude photos

5. Eat healthier

6. Budget

7. Cut my hair

8. Get a dog...never had one before.

9. Stop procrastinating

10. Forgive those bed TC members for being NOT nice....{#lang_emotions_bigsmile}

And your´s?{#lang_emotions_unsure}

I don´t usually make resolutions because I always break them when I do.  But with the good news from my doctor today, I am thinking I should make more effort to be healthier....like quit smoking. {#lang_emotions_unsure}

 Lovely thoughts.  They reminded me of a beautiful song , sung by Bette Midler : The Rose

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-kRsP5u8CTc    and for those who can´t access it, here are the lyrics:

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love, it is a hunger
An endless, aching need
I say love, it is a flower
And you, it´s only seed

It´s the heart, afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It´s the dream, afraid of waking
That never takes the chance

It´s the one who won´t be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dyin´
That never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong

Just remember, in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lie the seed, that with the sun´s love
In the spring, becomes the rose

I have too many new years resolutions to list! I prefer to have an endless list than a list that could end. Why? because that way I can´t say "oh I´ve achieved my goals, the end". Instead I can keep on achieveing them! .... let´s hope so anyway {#lang_emotions_lol}

How to Spend New Year´s Eve

Introduction

It is the last day of the year, right? Some are jubilating. Others are binge-drinking. What are you doing on this day? The year was varied in its meanings for you. There were deaths. There were births. There were heart breaks and marriages. There were so many things that made you laugh, so many that made you cry. But how are you taking it all in stride?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You´ll Need

Steps

Step One

REFLECTION

This is one of the best days to take stock of your own life and determine the direction it must take. You need time away from everyone to do this.

Step Two

RESOLUTION

After reflecting on your life, you have to resolve to enhance it. You might like your life as it is now and that´s okay. But if you want more out of your life, then you must put guidelines in place.

Step Three

REALISM

Hey, there were times you made bad decisions. We all do that. There were times others did us wrong. You have to factor all these dynamics into your expectations of life. This is not a time for illusions or delusions.

Step Four

REJOICE

Be happy to be alive. A lot of people did not make it this far. You need to be glad to be around; to be given a new year to live your life.

Step Five

REGROUP

It is time to gather whatever you´ve scattered. It could be people. It could be dreams. It could be priorities. Get them all together.

Step Six

REDEFINE

Your dreams as a eight year old are much different from your dreams as an eighteen year old. New Year´s Eve gives you a unique perspective for you stand at the crossroads of the past and the future. This is time to assess whatever you want and adjust it to the circumstances around you.

 My friend has the ultimate stress busting survival pack:

  • 1 metre long block of chocolate (feel good medication)
  • 1 pack of relaxing bath salts  (a great way to end the day)
  • 1 water pistol  (she has a select hit list . . . mainly the senior management team )

I can assure you she has used them all to great effect

  1. To spend more time working and less time on TC

  2. To stop selling young members of TC to the circus

  3. To join Peacetrain´s Knitting Club

  4. To have more respect for my lazy assed, skiving, overpaid slug of a boss (ooops I guess I broke that one already)

  5. To argue with Tamikidakika at every opportunity {#lang_emotions_ninja}

  6. To continue to be perfect in every way {#lang_emotions_angel}

  1. To join Peacetrain´s Knitting Club

 I did some research for you.  It seems someone is keen to set up a knitting club in the Isle of Wight.

http://www.knittingforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=16276

Interestingly, some members on the site hold their knitting clubs in wine bars!  Seems like a quirky mix of interests going on there and could result in some dropped stitches and "holy" pieces of work

An even more interesting fact:  The first reply to the request was from "geekygirl".  Are you sure you´re not all already members under assumed names? {#lang_emotions_lol_fast}  A parallel world?
