This is not an accusation, nor is it directed at any particular member, but I do remember the general outpouring of "personal" grief felt by muslim TC members during the height of the Gaza attacks recently. Emotive phrases of "these are OUR people" and "they are killing US" were being used frequently. There was a general feeling that anyone from the west could not possible understand the depth of the grief they felt, even though we were also horrified.
I can only presume that those people are sending aid to assist the people of Gaza and ensure that they can rebuild their homes?

à will answer your question AE,
Yes, we send aids trying to help people in Gaza, we´ve sent Doctors and materials and not just now i may add, but right after that inhuman war started!
We TRY to ensure that they can rebuild their homes.
Ãts not easy actually, we /me as a person want to help the people of Gaza, we/i dont want the money/materials we donate go to anyone else except them !
We aim really to help, not to use the money to favorite a part over another !
We are not a rich country, and of course nor rich people
But STÃLL, yes we do send aid .

Sometimes when English is not one´s first language, it may be difficult to express an emotion. I remember reading the posts and I interpreted the above quote as a sign of the strength of the empathy. I never, for one moment, interpreted it as anything else. I think that, sometimes, when tragedy occurs close to home (whoever we are and wherever we are from) it hits harder. That is not to say we are not touched and saddened by what happens further afield. From what I remember of the posts, I don´t remember getting "the general feeling" that people in the west would not be so horrified. Is this "general feeling" the general feeling of people saying that people from the west would not be so horrified or was it the "general feeling" you interpreted?
I haven´t been back to check the thread, but I don´t remember this "general feeling".

I don´t understand your logic here. It´s as if you are assuming the people who expressed their grief are spouting only words and not taking any action.
I don´t know about you, but I always think that to talk about how much aid/donation/voluntary help one gives to good causes is rather like "blowing one´s own trumpet" and it´s not something I for one want to do. It doesn´t have to be written here as a proof of one´s concern for a tragedy. I personally don´t think spouting about the individual aid one gives to a cause helps that cause. This is not the same as highlighting the work that organisations do and this does help to get the message out there.
Why are you always so eager to put a negative slant on certain issues? People felt a genuine grief, why try to interpret it as something it wasn´t? Oh well, if it´s your opinion, it´s your opinion I guess and you have every right to post it. Enjoy. . .
btw you have quite a knack for sanctimony at times

I think you credit me with too much integrity in my posts. I just look for trouble mostly - unfortunately Canli was not in the mood to play

Well, despite my play, there is no sanctimoniousness in noticing that when headlines die down, people forget ...

I agree. It´s a shame you had to use a tragic event to try and get a rise out of someone.

This is why I don´t enjoy arguing with you PT - you have no argument, just silly name calling and your rather lame efforts at psychology. I can respect an opponant, but not your playground games.
Perhaps you spend too much time around school children?

Perhaps you didn´t watch the video I posted then. It was a genuine question to those who were "personally grieved about their people".
Canli answered my question. So now why do you feel you have to get involved in your playground games?

You have no way of knowing that they forget.
