Stuart Jeffries of Guardian, writes about the subject, comparing Muslim women with their Western conterparts....No difference as far as freeom is concerned. Wink

"........ For Hegel this is not real freedom, because our wants and desires are determined by society. By those lights, a Western fashion victim is as much a sartorial prisoner as a woman in a burqa. By real freedom Hegel meant not doing whatever one wants but having freedom from societal conditioning by using reason. If you meet someone who manages to be really free in this sense send me their names so we can celebrate their escape.......".

What he fails to realize is that Burqas also follow a fashion of their own...Believe it or not !

I agree... firstly I think it´s wrong to talk about "the Western woman" and "the Muslim woman"... what about the Western Muslims? And are there no vast differences within different Muslim countries or communities, and within Western countries?

Secondly I am conducting some research now one freedom for women in different cultures, and to say a fashion victim is as much a victim as somebody who is denied the freedom to leave her house on her own account in the clothes she wants to wear, to do what she wants to do...it´s crazy.

You definitely need friends to call a day in advance before they visit you at home,  if women of your house are free to roam around as they wish, in clothes that they like, perhapa without any clothes at all when they feel like it.....how is that for crazy?

Well, if I want to walk naked within my own house, why not It´s MY house right? I just think it´s silly to see Muslim men wearing very sexy clothes, thight jeans, thight shirts, the newest hairstyles, spending a LOT of many on hairgel...walking with their Muslim wive, fully covered in a black robe, in the smoldering heat! I don´t go on the street naked Don´t worry. I CHOOSE to cover myself in a way that I feel comfortable. But short shorts are always good when it´s 40 degrees, right

excess&scarcity,i think thats the main problem on freedoms to as on everything, globalism will fix this  problem in time by setting common standarts i think? And thats really nonsense to make discrimination about freedoms between men&women??

Teas, stories of your nude vacuuming are quite infamous!  I just never expected you to talk about them so publically!  Up until now, you have always maintained that the "woman wearing only a mask and pushing a Hoover is not ME!!"
