I think, Jae, that you should feel lucky that you not only got a translation but some good free advice.  There are many men out there (not just in Turkey) that take advantage of foreign women.  Many of these women have been thru it.  I truely don´t think anyone was trying to offend you or hurt you.  In reality, these "snake-like" women have been there for me for years and have given me great advice about my relationship and my Turkish husband.  I wouldn´t be so quick to judge their posts.  Yes, we are all very comfortable here with eachother and do tend to speak very honestly and somewhat sarcastically...maybe it seems harsh...but I don´t think it is meant that way.

Maybe translation requester should put a note below request "please no personal comment or any advice required." , i guess that would solve the problem.

Quoting Jae

Forgive me if I offend.. but monitoring your translation site and indeed being at the end of rather acidic  comments, if you guys don´t want to help or can only be sour why offer the facility in the first place ?

I have to say I agree with you.  It just seems mean to me.  Some of these people are truly having emotional problems (love can be one of the greatest pains in the world) Then to have people jumping in offering abusive comments and advice or opinions on something they really are not privy to the whole story, seems to be the height of arrogance and cruelty.

Sometimes they sound pretty outrageous, but still....it seems like kicking someone when they are already down......now what do we call that?

.......but it is a public site that is visible to many............what do they say, buyer beware?
