Duchess of York faces criminal charges over Turkish child-scandal

these kind of people and their smarmies should firstly look at their own country instead of hiding their rubbish under their carpet..

I think one and half years ago we discussed this subject here :

http://www.turkishclass.com/columns/alameda/2009/forumTitle_35635

And almost nobody questioned what was shown in that programme was true or not.. Some people questioned if "S Ferguson had rights to do that programme or not".

There was no question if "she was telling the truth or not".

Of course she was not lying and she was telling the truth..

I hope those kids are being treated in a better way in these days..

I would recommend people read Ciko´s post about this topic

http://www.turkishclass.com/columns/alameda/2009/forumTitle_35635_8

I think you are mixing watermelons and greengages here. I am not interested in ´ins and outs of her´ (btw anybody knew that she had a nickname -butter- in her university years?

Everybody in Turkey knows that she was telling the truth with that programme..

I agree... Just because she has done some weird stuff now concerning money, doesn´t change the situation of those kids. One questionably action doesn´t make everything a person says a lie. And Fergie wasn´t the only person who worked on that program about those kids. She was just the host. There is NO way that she did all the research for that.

I´m a bit tired of the "stop talking about Turkey, fix all the other stuff in your own country first" comments. What kind of attitude is that? So unless the entire world is perfect, you can´t make ANY comments about bad stuff that is happening in Turkey? Wow, what a way to improve the world and make this a better place to live for everybody.... If something bad is happening in ANY country, people, wherever they are from, should be able to speak up about it, and try to improve the situation. If we all JUST minded the bad things happening in our own countries, my country (Holland) would have never been liberated from the nazi´s in the world war. Looking beyond your own borders isn´t a bad thing.

Unfortunately, when someone like the Dutchess of York does something stupid (like trying to pimp her ex for money), it does cast a shadow on all of the good that she does and has done.  I just think it is sad that this bizarre lapse of judgement has cast a shadow on all of it.  Hopefully, people don´t take this attitude about the children in Turkey and stop trying to right a wrong because they see Sarah Ferguson as a liar.  In my mind, it just proves that MONEY makes people do the stupidest things!!!

You´re not posting aything good about Turkey here. Just bad things about Holland. How about talking about Turkey on this Turkish forum?

By the way, the Dutch are not supporting Hitler more, but a part of the population is getting more Islamic-fobic, yes. Nationalism is not a real problem in Holland, since hobby number one of Dutch people is to complain about Holland.

You´re doing exactly what I hate right now. You´re not saying ANYTHING about Turkey. You´re not saying that it´s good, or bad. That the country might have some problems. You´re just changing the subject to my country. Did you ever take lesson about good argumentation? It might help you to actual convince people that you are not just empty words, because what you are saying now is unrelated to the issue of Turkish children.

it is true that u are always repeating same things in all argument u say that I should get lesson for good argument and convnce others. sekerim, I dont care about good argument, it can be good or bad.it depends on ppl..I dont wanna convince others for anything coz all pll in TC who post bad things about TR are same, narrow minded  and fixed for their opinion they are like staying in same class at school and repeating same wordsso it is nonsense to spend time for replying their posts and try to persuade

So you just say "your opinion is bad" without saying why this opinion is bad? What is the point of that...

BM - have you not learnt yet that some users think that diversion is the best form of argument? Like you were saying that DJ´s nose was dirty but, instead of admitting it, he´d say you hadn´t washed your feet Where´s sense in that? lol

Going back to the original discussion:

There is no doubt what the Duchess did was ethically wrong. If what she did was limited to arranging an interview for her ex husband there would probably be no legal consequences. This situation however suggests there may indeed be some sort of an illegal expectation as well. The amounts involved and the way the whole thing is arranged are the tell-tale signs of a criminal act undercover.

As for the hidden camera footage depicting children being harshly treated in Turkey; this is absolutely another matter.  It must be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators brought to the court if necessary.

There are children on both sides. Some consider this as a campaign disparaging Turkey and some allude that the video depicts how Turks generally treat their children.

I have posted enough good things about Turkey, but you don´t seem to read that. I have posted really nice pictures of Turkey, but you also don´t seem to notice that. You only see it when people say something about Turkey that is not positive, even when it is TRUE, and you become like a little child screaming that the other one is a stinky poo.
