In Greece, we also have jokes about Pontian people(Karadeniz people)
My guess is that temel who is the most common male character in the jokes about "Pontian people" is Rum. ( Yun romiós ῥωμιός (Doğu) Romalı ( ~ Yun themélio θεμέλιο temel taşı, heykel veya sütun kaidesi << EYun themélios líthos θεμέλιοσ (λίθο&sigma a.a.< EYun títhēmi, the- τίθημι, θε- koymak ) (http://www.nisanyansozluk.com/?k=temel) And the way Temel speaks Turkish is exactly how a Rum speaks Turkish.

They actually dont.....You´d never mistake a citizen from Blacksea for one with Greek origin, by their dialects.
One thing that gives away Turkish citizens whose mother tongue is Greek is, they never for example say
"Okula gidiyorum"
For some reason, it is always "Okulda gidiyorum" for them. Even those getting top grades in Turkish Literature classes cant avoid this error in daily speech. That obviously is not a LAZ mistake.

I understand you being cautious because of your origin, but, as a black sea man, I do not have to be Every corner of black sea still smell pontus but Turks keep their eyes closed to this fact.
I think, for instance, horon is a Pontic Greek dance.
No matter if it is performed by Greeks or Turks I love pontian dances and no matter if it is played by a Greek or Turk I love to hear kemendze, the traditional instrument of Pontic Greeks

Vona, you spoke logicaly. Many people -not only Turkish ofcourse-are afraid of historic truth and facts. But history cannot change ...we can tell lies to ourselves but deep inside us we all know the events. Even ancient and Byzantium ruins can talk. As a grand-daughter of Minor Asian Greeks i have heard many stories about that land. I respect Turkish people and i hope to respect me in return..and i really wish both nations forget and forgive each others in order to moove on peacefully. Maybe iam a dreamer...but i really want that day to come...

Both nations have so much common things, Its bloody politicians that has been brainwashing people to create enmity between Turk and Greek nations.

Temel was an "imam" [muslim priest] in a village. It was a Ramadan time. One day it was almost a fast breaking time. All villagers were waiting Ezan [prayer call] to break their fast.
Temel climbed up to the minaret and started to read " Allahu Ekber ! Allahu Ekber !, when the villagers heard this, they started eating. A short while later they heard Temel´s voice again saying " Allahu Ekber, Allahu Ekber ! Sound Test 1,2,3 Sound test 1,2,3 "

Bence İngilizcede de imam imamdır Belki parantez içinde (the male prayer leader in a mosque) diye bir açıklama yapmak yararlı olabilir.

İdam cezasına çarptırılan Temel’e son dileğini sorarlar. “Beni oğlumun yanıbaşına gömün” der. “Ama oğlun hala hayatta!” derler. Temel de, “Önemli değil, beklerim.” diye cevap verir.
They ask Temel, who is condemned to death, for his last wish. "Please bury me next to my son", he says. "But your son is alive!", they say. Temel replies: "No problem, I can wait".
