My boyfriend goes army after 20 days and i want know about those places where he go, first Tokat and after that Yozgat! Hope someone can tell me something...
Is those safety places and so on...

hya hun, not too sure if this will help at all but my bf is also in army he is situated in hakkari at the moment, he says it is very difficult sometimes, but he gets through it all. i know hakkari is alot further away than where your bf is, but i think it is this region where most of the troubles are and the more danger.........i think it is like this anyway.......i hope he will be ok and im sure you will be able to help him through it if he has any trouble. sorry i couldnt be more help
(p.s my bf only has 105 days left till he finishes

well he has been in a month on the 16th but he still has his phone and he turns it on at night and i text him today it made me feel a bit better. but i hope it gets better and th time goes quicker

it does....XXX was able to get 2weeks leave and he met up for holiday with me (for 12 days i stayed with him and went to his home for 2), it was so good!! i havent seen him for about 13 weeks now.....i miss him so much!.......some days it will seem like the time is going so quickly and others will feel like forever (the winter weather doesnt really help either)

just send him letters wit foto's an remind him of things you two hav done together the time you spent with one another, i get so excited when i get letters hehe its just abit more meaningful than txts and you can look over and over them unlike a phone call.........i love letters hehe

My husband has just started his military service. He's currently in Samsun, which shouldn't be as bad as other places. Supposedly he will be working in a hospital, but we don't know any details about it yet. He was 'lucky' to be assigned to the gendarme.

Personally I'm absolutely disgusted with the whole idea. When you go to the army it's like stepping 100 years back in time and you're required to act like a robot. When he called yesterday he said he had to because it was time for everybody to shower.

We have been together for three years, living together for two. We were starting to get really comfortable together, thinking of our future and then he savagely gets pulled away because of some fascist old tradition.

my boyfriend will start his military in 2 weeks. he will only do 5 months and he will have internet and telephone so im great happy i can also go and visit him whenever i want to, but only 3 hours per a day. i just hope he will do it in istanbul and not in ankara. :S

is it that they only have to do 5 months service when they have been to university?

thank you, i was just making sure because my boyfriend finishes uni in 2008 and hasnt been in the army yet, 5 months is better than 15 months. Do they get called straight away or can it be months before they called?

well, my boyfriend signed up himself he wants to get it done quickly because its better.. after the army he can do whatever he wants to. What education does your boy have? Mine has a technical engeneering edu. and thats why he will not be a soldier, he will take care of the technical stuff instead No, they dont call them directly (what i know), they can go out of the country first if they want to, but we decided to wait 5 months before getting the visa, it will be alot easier after the army.

i just know that for me, the longer we are apart the stronger my love for him grows because it makes me realise how much he means to me! but i cant wait to see him again....its only been 2 and a 1/2 months since i last saw him and i definately know that he will be worth the wait!

my friend just went to the army last week and didnt have chance 2 see him this year....last time i saw him was 11 months ago so now i have 2 wait another 15....which is guttin!!!! xx

How many days off are they actually allowed to have? My husband will supposedly get 7 days after the first three months but I don't know how much more he will get.

I've heard someone say a month in total, but I know that my brother in law went through his military service just three years ago and we was only allowed two weeks off in total, which would then be added in the end (so that some of his friends who had not taken time off at all could go home two weeks before him).

i was told it is a day every 2 weeks..but obviously not the case judging on what u have said..i think although they are entitled to a certain amount it depend on where they are posted and so forth....like with the mobile phones issue, some sergeants dont care and some do..

do they have women at all in the Turkish Army?

ah interesting, you'd think maybe as men and women are becoming more equal that women would have to complete national service aswell. we are always fighting for equals rights as females and all lol.

yes i cant imagine what it would be like to be forced into the army when its something you dont want to do.

My askim will be finished with the damn military on August 12, the day after his birthday, and it has been been hard!!! 14 months ago i did not think we could do it, but we're still going, and STRONG! Except now he will have to go back to Iraq as a contractor so he can save up enough money for us to get married in Turkey. But i do see the end, and i can't wait. We first met when i was deployed to iraq in the us army, and he was there as a translater for the Turkish company Serka. Then he left to go into the military and i left to come back home. So we've been apart now for almost a year and a half. I love him dearly and encourage ANYone to follow their hearts, no matter how long it takes to get where it's taking you.
