My opinion too! I would like to know as this thread seems to be on this subject, about women who watch porn and how about women who watch porn with their partners? Are they all perverts?

Thank you Mltm, I completely agree with your statement. I should make a clear distinction between porn itself and people who watch it. Porn in itself (and I'm referring to the heterosexual porn, made by and for men) is very degrading for women, shows women and sex in very dehumanized ways - women are toys for men, that men can do anything they want to do with (and they do show men doing atrocious things to women in porn videos, but even when they don't to atrocious things, the message about the way of treating women is very clear). These are the images and messages in porn - all of them very hateful and degrading to women. These are the messages almost all men shape their sexuality by. When they grow up, that's how they learn about sex and women.
The reason why I usually equate watching porn with men being perverts is that a great majority of men who continually watch porn do become perverts. The responses of people watching porn however can be very varied - from men who completely separate porn from life (and always respect real women), to men who don't see women as more then sex objects (and such men only see women in terms of sex, either "hot and slutty" or "ugly bitch"). So I'm saying that (based on what I see around) most men are perverts, but the level of this perversion may greatly vary. I am however disgusted by it in any shape, though undoubtedly, not all men are equally bad.

In a way yes, but I still think that men are more guilty because they are the oppressors. What I find very hypocritic about almost all men is that they say that since not all women take responsibility for this situation, they don't have to do anything at all, but take advantage. By far, there are much more women doing something about this then there are men. This is something that men who consider themselves to be decent also have to take responsibility for and stop being complacent and hiding behind excuses.

I am inclined to agree with you on this one.... This is really sad, I really don't see too much happening on the big scale that's being done in a feminist spirit. I would really like to know what's going on there! Is it that women are not getting enough support, or is it not possible for them to get a position of power, or the women who do get positions of power are already sold out... I have no idea... Maybe somebody else can comment on this one.
I mean, after all we cannot expect men to be concerned with the lives of poor women in villages... They have more important stuff to worry about, like how to corrupt the next elections.
