My Try:

Söyleyemem seni çok sevdiğimi
duymasın olur ya Mecnun kıskanır.
Ruhuma işleyen güzel kokunu
bilmesin olur ya güller kıskanır.

I can not say I love you deeply  -

don’t let Mecnun hear it, otherwise he will be jealous.

Your beautiful smell which has held fast in my soul  -

don’t let roses know it, otherwise they will be jealous.

*******************

Aşkımız uğruna çöle düştüğünü
bilmesin belki Leyla kıskanır.
Canımdan bir parça can oluşunu
duymasın ne olur annem kıskanır.

Your getting lost in the desert because of our love -

don’t let Leyla know it, she will be jealous.

That you have become a part of my soul  -

please don’t let my mother know it, she will be jealous.

**********************

Sen oldukça benim yaşadığımı
gücenir bilmesin ruhum kıskanır.
Uğrunda bir ömür vadettiğimi
duymasın olur ya ecel kıskanır.

While you are becoming more and more the life what I live  -

don’t let my soul know it, it will feel insulted, jealous.

That I have promised my whole life for your sake  -

don’t let my moment of death know it, it will be jealous.

**********************

Aşkımız uğruna çöle düştüğünü
bilmesin belki Leyla kıskanır.
Canımdan bir parça can oluşunu

My getting lost in the desert  -

don’t let Leyla know it, she will be jealous.

That you have become a part of my soul  -

please don’t let my mother know it, she will be jealous.

*********************

Aşkımın yüce dağlar deldiğini
bilmesin olur ya Ferhat kıskanır.
Ruhuma işleyen o güzel kokunu
bilmesin olur ya güller kıskanır.

That my love will go through exalted mountains  -

don’t let Ferhat know it, he will be jealous.

Your beautiful smell which has held fast in my soul  -

don’t let roses know it, otherwise they will be jealous.

Sen oldukça benim yaşadığımı

ecel ecel kıskanır.

That I have promised my whole life for your sake  -

please don’t let my moment of death know it or it will be jealous.

Great. Thanks tunci, ahmet_a1b2 and AlphaF. A nice group of voice verbs we have here now.

But it is still difficult for me to believe that a cock can sing.

I got an idea. The metaphorical use of animal sounds (with a human subject) gives us a great freedom of expression. (Just don´t forget diye):

...diye homurdandı (I have heard this many times.)

                          ...diye kişnedi

                          ...diye uludu

                          ...

No?

Grammatical terms are flexible. They must be because languages are different. There is a tradition of calling Turkish zarf fiiller gerunds and even though it is not quite logical  -  I understand it now thanks to si++  -  it does not harm as long as we agree. Similar inaccuracies occur in the grammar of many languages.

In my insignificant opinion leaving the gerund naming to isim fiil like in English and Latin would have made more justice to the structure of Turkish in which verbal nouns play an extraordinary role. But we play with these rules now.

its very hard to reach the meaning cos it is translated from Macedonian first

For those learners whose native language is a third language I recommend using ready English texts for practicing if possible. This minimizes the risk of toppling because of bad English. Bad Turkish is enough trouble.

An interesting article about non-Muslim graveyards in Istanbul:

http://haber.mynet.com/istanbulda-bulunan-gayri-muslim-mezarliklari-613622-ilginc-haberler/

It says the Greek population of Istanbul is about 2500 and their graveyards, especially those in Şişli and Büyükada are well taken care of, attracting many visitors.
