Quoting Deli_kizin

That has very different background, history and reasons than the ones discussed in this thread. A difference in terminology is necessary here, and I do believe that türban (as opposed to geleneksel baþöürtüleri)  is a political symbol, which has very little to do with religion. I don´t have time to get into it, but you should have a look at the name Necmettin Erbakan and the development of the türban sorunu in Turkey. You will understand that ´those educated women who refuse to take it off´ aren´t so much concerned about their religion.. (ofcourse this is a generalisation, but ý have seen them so often: wearing tight clothes, lots of make-up and then putting on a headscarf to cover their feminine charms. Yeah sure. So much for religion! I don´t buy it!)

Thanks for your welcome-back wish CANLI ITs good to be back!

Ãm sure there are different reasons and history backgrounds why women wear hijab or cover themselves at any way

Women used to cover up before Ýslam too, so i cant say that is because of Ýslam.

But now to us muslim women we do cover our hair and bodies..hijab that is for that reason only, that its an order from ALLAH

Ý dont know why its much easier for you to serach for different reasons why muslim women wear hijab all over the world rather than accept our reason ´we muslim women´ ?!

Women wear it every where at the world not just at some places so you can get a historical reason for that

Women wear it in German...in South Africa, in Australia, at Saudi Arabia, at Ýran, at Egypt, at Türkiye, even in China..etc

All those wear it would have a special reason for each country rather than the obvious one that we wear it because its an order from ALLAH ?!

Women wear it as they want, some cover themselves all together, some wear it as it should be, some wear tiny clothes that show their bodies...thats women´s preferences

Sometimes forced upon them as in saudi Arabis

Who told you we dont have same things here as well ?!

Yes many women wear hijab in a way that show their bodies, so tight clothes, wear makeup and more too.

But at same time, you cant judge her for what she wear and say it has nothing to do with religion !

She wears it for that, doesnt matter how she applies it, its her business only with ALLAH

No matter how much i or you agree with what they wear or not, but would you rather we have in each Muslim country a religious police walk around order women how they wear their own hijab ?!

Ý believe not.

We have the order, everyone apply it as she likes, even if she doesnt apply it at all, ALLAH will judge us not anyone else, and i guess as a muslim i prefer it that way.

OK, not really urgent, but thats the closest thread to what i want.

Ý want a good recipe for apple pie

Ý googled and i made it exactly as they said but the dough turned out to be messy and ended up to it make cookies !

After asking they told me maybe the flour is the reason.

Anyway, i just bought a prepared dough and made the pie

Nice of course...Still i want to make the dough myself.

Any help ?

Quoting Daydreamer

No man is better than a woman and no woman is better than a man only by virtue of their gender.

Actually in Quran it said no one is superior or better than the other ´men or women´ except by their good nature

Meaning for example judge is better than a thif no matter if the judge male or female , white black ...etc or the thif is male/female, white/ black ..etc

And for abudy, no one ´´muslims´´ against applying the islamic law as long as you do it without any personal issues !

As for converts are punished by death its same case also in Christianity, they just dont apply their religion rules at the West thats all.

Still in here , they do away from the authorities, Christians converted to Ýslam dont lead a happy life if they managed to escape with their lives !

And as for Saudi women,no one wants to see them, thats not the point, but at Rasul SAV time, they were not hidding women so no one would see and claimed its for their own goods!

Women used to walk alone without any guards or men being along with them, had their own decisions too in life and work!

Who made men the superior to decide what should women do or dont ?!

Ýf its not allowed that women do Hij while they wearing Niqab then when do you force niqab on them by law ?!

Ýt HÝJ where one go to ALLAH house, and ALLAH said no niqap there, so why on earth they are forced to cover themselves else where?!

No place is more holier than Mecca !

And in what book it says women should be beaten for not wearing even hijab not niqab ?

Why the El amr Bil ma3roof  ´ the religious police´ hitting women who dont wear it ?

We have Quran between us, why dont we take it as a judge then ?

Ýts a joke that you blame Fatima´s family for allowing her to watch the TV and thats why she got brainwashed.

You cant shut their eyes too, can you ?!

OK, she would read Quran, Sunna, sira and she would understand she has rights more than she granted, then what would be your excuse for that ?!

Stop women from reading Quran and knowing their religion?

Ý dont say Fatima is right, im sure there are many good Saudi men over there, as there is many bad Turks too same as every where, there are goods and bads but i believe as she is living the extreme she also has developed extreme thoughts of her own.

And its not healthy.

And about that driving thing...actually i read some reasons for it that i cant even write them here !

Not many places at ME actually this happen  in Saudi Arabia only, i dont know about Ýran, from the sight of it i think its forced there as well.

Ã believe its still same case at SA Elisabeth, i heard the religious police hit the man who is with the woman tho not the woman !

Sad it is !

But at Riyad and Jedda things are different.

Ã dont know if you were addressing this to me or to farukdemirhan DD

Ýf you are a believer in any sort of religion, not just Ýslam you would have your choices of course but within the rules of that religion.

Ýts ridiculous to join a religion and to claim believing in it, but at same time not practice its rules, in that case you should pick another one that suites you, and if there is none then you can stop believing if you choose.

Religions dont take your freedom away, or your choices, they giving you them within their rules.

Same as law and countries, you live in the country you live in, free and have your choices within the law of that country

Ýf you obay the law that doesnt mean you are not free or your choices have been taken away from you !

Ýn my comment above i meant, we as Muslims have rules by Ýslam, and sometimes they are actually taking away from us by the power of anything else ´law in some countries, man in another, society..etc´ and they take Ýslam an excuse for that !

So by same excuse , by the rules of Quran then we as women shouldnt allow this.

Ý addressed that to  farukdemirhan and i believe she as Muslim would understand what i meant very well !

Ýf they take those rights claiming that its religion then by that religion and the proof of our law´ Quran´ we must demands those rights and get them back not just watch and believe they do the right thing!

We can read, we have brains, so we should know and understand very well what is ours and what is not and not just taking anything been told to us as granted !

How come ALLAH gave us rights and others take them away ?!

We believe in ALLAH and Mohammed SAV not anyone else...and that is our law our limits to say what are our rights and what are our duties as women !

Ã also think it can be, you can have male friends as well, it depends on the person too and your judgment if you can take him as a friend or not

Men same as women, some of them think its possible to be friend with women and some dont ..and ask for more!

But nevertheless in some cases things may be developed to more than friendship, imagine you have a close male friend who understand you more than anyone else in the whole world, knows what you dis/like, sometimes know what you are thinking if you have a moment of silent...etc and you understand him same too, so by time feeling may be developed between you, and also may not and you stay a good friends for ever!

No guarantees actually it depends on the persons themselves.

Quoting Uzun_Hava

I deleted the graphic only to avoid repition.  Last October, our tour guide in SultanAhmet mosque said that custom of "covering" is never discussed in the Quran, that it is a custom of certain groups, I assume he meant arabs, but I think that in the time of the scriptures it was a universal practice.  I think ancient Heybrews did it also, but got over it.   Anyway, I agree it has nothing to do with religon

Quoting AlphaF

Covering one´ s head or body, whether you are an Arab or a Jew, or whether you are a man or a woman is obviously a good and necessary protection against the climate in that area of the world. It is also understable why people prefer loose clothing in that area. Anyone who has been in a desert knows  that no attire can beat that of a Tuareg in that climate.

The circus act starts when someone starts telling you that this is a divine order and that everything else is a sin. Can you blame Eskimos covering themselves fully in furs to stand the Artctic cold ?;  consider however, how an Eskimo travelling to Los Angeles in his local outfit would look, if he insisted fur coats were his God´s orders.

The thing is, hijab is actually an order from ALLAH to Muslims in Quran but not niqap

What you say about Eskimos is a logic but still in our case, in Ýslam its different, and what proves that, you dont find muslims women wear hijab only at Arab countries

But you find also at Westerns countries, Indonesia, and every where else

You find it in Türkiye and well educated women refuse to take it off so you cant say they are depressed by husbands or families

No one forced them to stand for it !

So i believe that has nothing to do with climate has it ?!

To make what am talking about clear

Ým talking about hijab, where you cover your hair ..not when women covering their faces too

Covering the faces is and never was an order from ALLAH, never mentioned in Quran, and not ordered by Rasul SAV at any hadith.

Ý cant say why they wear niqap..i fail to understand actually

And i personally know many cases when its the women choice to do so, even some cases the husband refuse and woman fighting her way to it

So i cant say they are forced, of course some are but some chosen it that way !

They dont think not wearing it is a sin tho, but they believe wearing it is better .

PS: Niqap when women cover their faces excluding the eyes

 Totally agree with you  !

Ýslam gave us our rights, and we shouldnt allow people to take ANY of them away from us !

ALLAH gave us rights, no human should have the right to take any of them away !

We can stick to our holly Kuran and keep those rights..yes ?
