Thread: Most Important Thing I Learned Today....

I've been studying all day long (almost then), so I learnt many new things. Most of them are grammar rules of Homeric Greek though And it's not nice because the ancient Greek in which Homer wrote his amazing epics The Ilias and the Odysseia, are written in an epical art-language to make it fit in the dactylic hexameter in which it was written.

The only thing we know for sure about Homer, is his name. Apart from that, nothing is really sure and professors aren't even sure whether he wrote the Odysseia and the Illias, or that it a mixture of several poets.

The 'Analysists' are the ones who try to figure which was the original version and who wrote wat. The 'Unitariers' think it was written by one person, Homer. I agree with them because i think the structure in both books is so strong and so talented, this must come from one men.

This is what i learnt today and i hope it was a nice lesson for you too

Thread: Turkish visa for Greek Islands

How difficult is it for Turkish people to get a visa for Greece if they want to visit the Greek Islands that are on the Aegean Coast?

There are some greek islands very close to turkey, such as Kos, Samos and Rhodos.

I wonder if Turkish people don't often visit these if they go on holiday. I would like to take Kadir there for a boat trip and stuff, but the whole surprise would be gone if he needs to go through all the visa trouble first, right?

Is there a difference for visas for each specific island, or does a visa count for all of Greece? (my greatest desires are to see Istanbul and Athens with him )

Cafe' Frappe' is absolutely greek and the biggest invention of the human kind!
I ve taught to some friends at a hotel near the turkish-greek borders how to do it and bought them all the needed equipment. Turks have to learn how to do that!
As for the visa, yes, I think they do need one to visit the greek islands. Unfortunately

Ohh i'd like to hear how to do it! And what equipment do you need for it then?

I think my mum used to make it when i was quite little, but those days seem long forgotten..

Too bad about the visa, would be great to take Kadir to a Greek island for a long weekend.

Vengaboys - Uncle John From Jamaica

8 o'clock get up get outta bed
I feel like a truck ran over my head
Another day of stress and sorrow
Skip breakfast, 'cause I gotta go
Ain't got no time to take it slow
And I will do my hair tomorrow

I can't take it no more
Oh no no no
Is this what I'm living for?

But my Uncle John from Jamaica
Keeps on calling every day
Just buy a ticket and take a
Summer Holi - Holiday

6 o'clock my job is still not done
The life I'm living ain't no fun
Too many days of stress and sorrow
My boss just won't give me a break
And this is more than I can take
Think I will quit this job tomorrow

[Bridge]

[Chorus 2x]

That's the most exciting part you know. That behind every turkish thing there is something greek and vise versa! I just wish there would be more people able to see that.
*sigh*

Oh but please don't tell me that kafè frappè (however you spell it with latin characters) is Turkish too. That always was my sacred Greek thing that i wish for every summer!!

Hey do Turkish people need a visa if they want to visit Greek islands in the Turkish coastline? And how does that work?

You see? Never trust anything greek! There is always something suspicious hidden behind what looks innocent

Ohh but i ate the Greek yoghurt like it was Turkish and right now I'm gonna go on studying on Homer, knowing that the good old guy probably was born in IZMIR

Are you sure you can handle this? It's a strong aphrodisiac( or so they say- how can I know? )so you'd better save it for later, when Kadir will be around!

But I managed just fine I got used to the fact I can't always have what i want straight away. Oh hey, just two months and i'll be close to a ref which is always filled with yoghurt and a man who either sleeps in my bed or lives just around the corner. And no fear for high phonebills anymore, so i can call whenever i want to
