Deli_kizin - the day that I consider you boring and old fashioned is the day that Brad Pitt leaves Angelina for me and begs me to marry him.....in other words... NEVER

I also get your point. You're completely right. Your situation is very special because you are going to study Turkish Literature, but I don't know whether governments can be so sensitive and look at it in this particular way.
Sometimes, I see such lists in the internet, but ccan't find it right now writing "türkiye'nin en iyi üniversiteleri", but the accurate lists depends on the areas. Forexample for engineering, for medicine, for law etc. and even so sometimes people don't agree on it. But what's for sure is, there're some best universities among which're ODTÜ, Boğaziçi, Bilkent, İTÜ etc. Usually best ones are in the big cities. İzmir universities are also good, but not at the top, but it's Turkish Literature and I don't know in turkish literature Ege Üniversite is where.

Hmm ok thanks I would not choose another university anyway

Hmm.. Considering all the posts of strippers, ripped jeans nice hipped Ramayan, belly-dancers, alcohol, etc.. compared to my tea-books-macunu (ohh I think i should add Kadir playing with my hair ) I've come to think that everybody must think that i'm very boring and old-fashioned

And maybe for now your government is right on their side, because they say: "you prefer going to do your study in a country where the education level is lower, and so it's your dumbness and we cannot afford it"

Ok now you just made me wanna explain why, in case of a language/literature study in the country where that language is native, i think government is very wrong

Because language and literature is more than an academic level. Actually Dutch government is saying: In Holland you will learn Turkish and Turkish literature better than in Turkey. Maybe the academic level and analysis will be higher in Holland. But a language is way more than that. A book is not just a story. You must breath the culture in order to understand every aspect. You must be able to place the book in a time-frame and if it's a modern book, that time-frame doesn't exist yet. Therefore the only way to udnerstand it, is to live it. So I think the best way, is to do it in the country where that language is officially spoken. No matter that the education is a bit lower.

But i get your point and you're quite right about it. Becuase of what use am i to holland if i study something that is worth less in my own country? But who cares, right now i'm not really planning to go back

About Ege, is there a site or a list which rates Turkish Universities?

What do you mean with being a EU citizen and being able to work in any EU country?

I mean, can you just go and work in France, Italy, Germany etc. just like in your country?

Hmm i actually don't even know, but i guess so. I was asked for a summerjob in Italy once. And when i go on holiday in the EU, i never need a visa. But i guess there is more to than just that. Because of taxes and insurrances and so forth.

I wonder if you can work as a EU citizen in any EU country? The fact that Turkey is not in EU yet makes all the problem for you I guess

Yes true, if Türkiye was in EU, it would all be a lot easier. Also, i think Holland will have more confidence in Turkey once it is joining, which will make agreements, acceptances etc easier for all sorts of things.

What do you mean with being a EU citizen and being able to work in any EU country?
