Quoting deli: hi lovepraque, just to let you know im teaching english ,welllllllllllllllll im trying just take a weekend TEFL course ,thats all I did ,they are desperate out here for native english speakers.I dont know if my students are learning anything from me ,but what tends to happen here is, the turkish speaking teachers teach the grammer side of English ,and the native English teachers just talk about general everyday situations. The students just need the experience of hearing a native speaker for good pronunciation. I often tell my students to close there books and we just talk Yes its scarey and yes sometimes I think am i really helping these guys learn my language ,but they all seem soooooooooooo keen to hear the sounds of correct pronuciation, and when they have been saying it wrong and hear it correctly spoken ,they are deligthed, so
what im trying to say is dont be nervous about teaching a class of students ,one bit of advice though, try and teach older students in their twenties and thirties, not kids
veryyyyyyyyyyy difficult, and hard graft . I also have a few private lessons where I am tryingggggggggggg to teach five seven year old turkish boys English ,but its hard work. Good luck and all my veryyy heart felt best wishes for you and you dear Nesrin |
