I only joined this forum recently, so SORRY if someone else has already let you all know about a WONDERFUL book called LIVING IN TURKEY FOR FOREIGNERS.

It is by Pat Yale, who has lived in Cappadocia for many years, and was a major author on Lonely Planet Turkey, so she knows what she is talking about.

It is a great handbook, packed full of loads of practical information, and is published by Çitlembik - a good publisher for English books in Istanbul.

Hi everyone

I get frustrated with all these politicians who say they are working in Turkeys best interests, and then squabble with each other (even within their own party) so the real issues i.e. unemployemnt, education, health system etc dont get discussed, and they spend all their time throwing mud at each other.

Really it is a case not of voting for the best, but the least worst.

We need more men of vision like Atatürk ... that would make chosing who to vote for easier.

"birçok erkek arkdaşlarım var" could be a bit misconstrued as meaning I have a lot of boyfriends, not a lot of my friends are boys. "Erkek olan birçok arkadaslarım var" or "birçok erkeklerle tanışıyorum" could be better. What do Turks think ?
