Hmm.. Żebrowski is ok I love listening to his voice when he´s reading poems but I prefer the coarse looks of Pudzianowski. Ideally, aperfect man would have Pudzianowski´s body, Zebrowski´s voice and...mine intelligence and mean sense of humour lol

Pudzianowski??? lol lol lol

Right there with you on Żebrowski´s voice. I have a CD with him reading "Pan Tadeusz". Devine. I liked him in the "Of Fire and Sword" (I think that´s the English title, no?). Did you notice that they speak Turkish in that movie?

Thread: The ´Accelerative Verb´ !!??

As promised, here are some examples of the accelerative verbs.

Þu televizyonu tamir ediver.

Bu akþam bize geliver.

Þu þarkýyý söyleyiver.

Dün aldýðý kitabý bir gecede okuyuverdi.

Araba, yolda duruverdi.

Kardeþim yatýnca hemen uyuyuverir.

Onun problemini yarýn çözüvereceðim.

Gitmiþken arkadaþlarýmý da görüvereceðim.

Kavaþaktan sola dönüvereceksin.

Çocuk hemen anlayýverdi.

Þu kitabý bir günde okuyuverdim.

Babadan biraz para isteyiver.

Araba, birdenbire yoldan çýkýverdi.

Evi beþ dakikada temizleyiverdi.

Bütün eþyalarý kolayca taþýyýverdik.

Þunu aþaðý götürüver.

Pazardan bir kilo muz alýver.

Þu raporlarý yazýverin.

Yarýn büroya geliverir misin?

Alýþtýrmalarýmý çözüverir misin?

Bana bir kart alýverir misiniz?

In the above examples, the addition of -(y)i+vermek conveys a sense of urgency, rapid or sudden action.

When it gets tricky is in negative sentences.

When you add the negative suffix - me/-ma to the ver, then it means that the urgent, rapid or sudden action was not done, for example: Oraya gidivermiyorum. I´m not going there urgently.

O kadar istedik yapývermedi.

Her zaman kapýyi açardi; bugün açývermedi.

O kadar ýsrar ettim; ama yine de söyleyivermedin.

When you add the negative suffix to the verb stem, then it conveys the meaning of stopping abruptly the action of the verb. For example: Oraya gitmeyiverdim. I abruptly stopped going there.

Canýn istemiyorsa yapmayýver.

Bu habere üzülecekse söylemeyiverirsin.

Bir saat daha uyumayýver.

There are other verbs than can be used to make compound verbs to enhance the meaning of the original verb.

- (e) bilmek is probably most popular one, but some others include:

- (e) durmak (implies continuity)

- (e) gelmek (implies repetition)

- (a) kalmak (implies continuity)

- (e) yazmak (implies a close escape)

For some examples with kalmak and durmak you can take a look at this site: http://www.learningpracticalturkish.com/turkish-verbal-factoids.html

Jesus, it´s so slow at work, I´m going to actually post here.

I´m wearing bootcut jeans and black heeled boots and a black v-neck sweater.

Now I can go and shoot myself out of boredom. lol
