I found a list of 10 most inaccurate movies and both of them made it. Interestingly enough Mel Gibson seems to be a common thread in some of them.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to use one foreign language to learn another - for example use Turkish resources to learn Spanish. I found a couple of websites in Turkish that might be helpful with that:

That way we could kill two birds with one stone and practice both languages at the same time.

I know that´s feasible, I am using English to learn Turkish, even though Polish is my native language, but I´m just not sure how well one needs to speak Turkish to really benefit from the above idea.

I too find it annoying when the movies are not accurate in terms of historical or geographical facts. It seems to be the case with some movies that are made to provide entertainment value only. For me the "Gladiator" is a movie like that, which is so far off in terms of historical accuracy that it´s just difficult to watch.

I´m not sure how it´s "evil" though. Maybe it´s just ignorance of the writer, lack of a good historical consultant, or a deliberate change of set to make the story more workable.

I beg to differ - some people take general comments personally and some people take personal comments and elevate them to the status of racism (playing the "race card") - it may or may not be true in this case. You also seem to have missed my point - that it´s not black or white. I´m not denying that there´s anti-Muslim sentiment in the USA - I´m opposing stereotyping all Americans based on the views of some.

Also, I´d challenge you to find a single thread where I´m jumping on the bandwagon when Turkey is under criticism. I doubt you´d find a single one. So if you´re going to criticise my posts, have some substance to the criticism and don´t pull your info out of your ass.

From your own experience? Really? Do you personally know "a great percentage of Americans"? Or maybe you´re getting your info from the Christian media that you seem to despise so much. You´re driving a point about how biased they are (which I happen to agree) so how come you don´t take that into consideration when making your own judgments?

Or have you ever thought that it´s not Muslims that the Americans you meet hate, but maybe it´s you? With attitudes like you have it´d be hard to feel warm towards you. Maybe the Americans you meet make their impression of Muslims based on their interaction with you, have you thought of that? 

And to answer your question, you´re assuming that I read every thread, which I don´t. Nor do I feel inclined to post on topics I know little about. I don´t know whether Turks are bigots or not, I don´t know "a great percentage of them". My opinion of Turks is based on the few I´ve met and what I see on this site, which, if I were to take your posts into consideration, I´d have to admit that the survey wasn´t too far off.

Now what I´m wondering about here is whether - dukta in "Aþýk oldukta ne oldu?" is the -dik participle + -de or if it´s the past tense -dik for "we" + -de? I hope somebody can elaborate/explain this one for me.
