Quoting cyrano:

I apologize you, Natlisa, as I have attempted to translate it, while being beside a master.

Hardly a master! I think you should look in the mirror for that one. One day I'll get there.... Take care!

It's the best way to learn. You'll be writing cruel and not-so-cruel messages to your Turkish beau with your own hand in no time at all, I'm sure!

Abbie - don't pay attention my translation will probably be wrong!
Is this in any way right?
"Hello my love, if only I could be there to look after you. Take care of yourself my darling."

Hey Chris - you're learning! Well done

Thanks for the info Natalie. I will check the film as well. I like London. I like rainy days and cloudy skies and people are very nice as well. Another detail is that here there are no magandas and no İbrahim Tatlıses and other arabesk music and the traffic is wonderfull. I even have started riding a bike after many years. Cheers.

Your bit about magandas just made me laugh aloud! Well, I guess in London we have men who are more the other extreme! Good job you enjoy the rainy days and cloudy skies. Although did you know here in London we actually get less rain than Paris. (It just doesn't always feel that way). But true, there isn't arabesk music here either. As for riding a bike, good man. Although you are braver than me. Let me know what you think of the film! It's not to everyones taste - but is hailed a classic by some. And it's set in Venice - so the setting's certainly inspiring.

Take care!

Well, thank you very much Lisa. I'm just a typical Turk.

You must really enjoy teaching - as it shows - because you are so good at it. Well, I just hope that London is showing you as much hospitality as Turkey has shown me in the past. (Somehow I doubt it....) Well, I'm off now, the film "Don't Look Now" is on itv soon. A classic.

Natalie (Oh and if you wonder where the Lisa comes from - it's my middle name.. Combine the two - Natlisa )

Benim olur musun? > Will you be mine?

Natlisa,
I like your translations. Your Turkish is very good. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

Thanks Erdinc - you're too kind! I've a LONG way to go. It's a constant learning process! And to be honest, I sometimes get bits of different languages all mixed up... I was trying to talk in Italian recently and I kept accidentally adding Turkish words into the sentences!

That's a better way of saying it! Erdinc, how do you find the time to be so super helpful on here? You really are a star giving up so much of your time!
