I am not whinning about "this" whatever "this" is, rather, I´m replying to another post here. The particular links I posted did not in fact save lives, although it is possible some did. It is for certain the ones against the Native Amerindians did not save lives.

This is a horrible part of all countries histories. It has happened over and over again throughout the centuries, and recently too. 

Native Americans suffered very recently too. Then there was the Orphan Train movement in the US, European forced child migrants to Australia program...These programs were accepted until recently when they were deemed human rights violations.  

I could go on and on, but in the interest of brevity, I will limit my "lists". 

You keep gong on and on as is Turkey is the only country where things have happened. What I understand is that we should learn from the mistakes made and guard against such atrocities in the future, not dwell on and pick the scab of the past. 

Really, this is silly. I asked you what the problem is and why you call the oath racist, you didn´t answer. I asked you if it was the name Turkey you find unacceptable, no answer. 

Most countries have settled on a name for their country. Many of the names actually are derived from some tribe or another, but we don´t hear the people getting upset and calling the names racist. Here, take a look:

Yes, people have been fishing with nets for millenia, however the nylon drift nets are not biodegradable and continue to cause damage long after their intended use has expired. 
We are not talking about the simple hand made nets used yesteryear. 

They even kill birds. Responsible use of nets is what is needed. Certainly, huge commercial drag nets that scoop up everything are disgusting and certainly should be illegal.

I think I understand what your issue is with this, however just about every country has similar issues. Poland was comprised of many different tribes, the Poles were just one of them, but now the country is named Poland. There is a similar situation in England. However names are chosen rather than call the countries #1 $2 #3...even then there would be an argument as to who was #1...

FWIW, I am under the impression a Turk is a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, and they are composed of many blends. Humans have inhabited the area for millenia, Hittites, Lycians...and on and on....

Excuse me, but could you clarify just what you are talking about? I am thinking it is this:

As a citizen of a country, IOW not stateless, you have an obligation to defend it. This is a basic requirment of citizenship of any country.
