Roswitha,

You are right about Evil Eye Pendant is a custom of Turks.

But it is related with PreIslamic period of Turks.

You are right. So thats why we call it "Batıl inanç" is "superstition"

Quoting hobnob:

This is a common mistake. ´´cok fazla´´ cannot translate to ´´too much´´ in English because this has a negative meaning in English. We should say something like ´´I love you so much´´

"too much" means "aşırı fazla", "gereğinden fazla"
So it is negative meaning.

Quoting Roswitha:

Gencturk, amazing links. Thanks. Here you can read about

Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu (October 25, 1894 – March 21, 1973), also known as just Aşık Veysel, was a Alevi minstrel and highly regarded poet of the Turkish folk literature. He was born in the Sivrialan village of the Şarkışla district, Sivas, on October 25, 1894 and died on March 21, 1973. He was an ashik, a poet, songwriter, and a bağlama and saz virtuoso, the prominent representative of the Anatolian ashik tradition in the 20th century. He was blind for the most of his lifetime. His songs have usually sad tunes, often talking about inevitability of death.

Thanks for the english info, Roswitha.

vallahi Ali ask olsun yani.....ne demek görünce cin carpmis gibi kaciyorsun demek. benim öyle bi niyetim yok, hayir ben sana küs falan da degilim, nerden cikardin bunu? sadece hic zamanim yok....msn e bi giriyorum bi kac saniyeligine..... bi seyler bakip hemen geri cikiyorum. yani sana karsi öyle bir his verdiysem özür dilerim, öyle bi niyetim asla yok, olamaz da. neyse anlat nasilsin neler yapiyorsun? nasil gidiyor semra hanimla? beni sorarsan hep ayni islerimle ugrasip duruyorum iste.... su an zamanimi onlarla doldurdum, fliege am 13. april nach paris bir hafta orda kalcam, bakalim biraz degisiklik olur. iste böyle Alicik.....kendine iyi bak görüsmek ümidiyle

Really Ali let there be love..... What do you mean when you see me like I´m running off like demon.I don´t have any intention like this, and no I´m not irritated with you, where did you get this idea? It´s just that I don´t have the time... I go into Msn for a few seconds look at a few things then sign out again. If I made you feel like this, forgive me,this really isn´t my intention, not at all.Anyway tell me how are you? what have you been up to?How´s it going with Semra? If you ask me I´m suffering with the same work.....my time is spent working,I´ll be in Fliege? on 13th April and stay in Paris for a week,we´ll see anyway,my plans may change. This is how it is Ali....take care of yourself hope to see you.

These two are idiom.
1)"Aşkolsun" means: "beni üzüyorsun-kırıyorsun"
So "let there be love" not correct.

2)"cin çarpmış gibi kaçmak" doğrusu "şeytan görmüş gibi kaçmak" means: "hemen-hızlıca kaçmak"
So "running off like demon" not correct.
