Quoting AEnigma III: Handsom I am very angry that you created this thread. You have given no consideration to my reputation. I have long been accused of exaggeration about "extremist Islam" in the UK and I am proud of that
What the hell will I do now? Post poems? |

and you will understand why shariah law is OK. |
FWIW....Sharia law according to what school? That is a big problem.
People think there is only one interpretation of Sharia and that's it's a set thing. It isn't.
In Sunni Islam there are four schools of Sharia Law:
Hanbali: Most conservative used in Saudi Arabia and parts of Nigeria.
Hanifi: Most liberal school
Maliki: Conservative
Shafi'i: Conservative
Then there are the Shia schools of Sharia...so what one are they talking about?

Alameda - seriously.... don't patronise us!!! I think I can safely say that all the people taking part in that discussion are fully aware of the four "schools" of Sharia.
To be frank, the point is that NONE of them should be made part of British law to accomodate muslim immigrants - under ANY circumstances.
This is not racism - it is fundementally WRONG. All citizens of a country should be treated EQUALLY by it's laws.

if you have watched the youtube i gave last night you would understand that two separate laws can co-exist. people would have a choice: shariah or secular.
if it had succeeded in nigeria (note two different religions) then why not in multi-culture UK?
Ruhi Hamid (the lady who made the document) made very interesting points, namely, effectivness of sharia courts. unlike western proceedings, the shariah law is clear and precise. guilty? take your punishment!
pay attention to peoples opinions. even christians prefer to get their problems solved by the islamic laws.
simple! effective! quick! free of charge! just! (witnessed even by criminals)
maybe there could be a lesson to take for sophisticated minds in the west?

right, its not racism. but you are not giving them a right to practise it according their own belief systems. and thats called OPRESSION not racism.

Yes you are right, I apologise. It is, indeed, my dream to see the UK emulate Nigeria. They are held in high esteem as "the ideal way" to run a country
