Can we all please stop giving him the attention he wanted? I think it would be much better if all the comments after LIR deleted his post were deleted as well. Why draw more attention to the issue?

Haven't a clue what is going on but after reading thread and your comment gg all I have to say to you gg is

There is so much deja vu with this story. You should take a look at the Turkish Loverats site, it is littered with exactly this.

Why oh why do women hand over money to someone they hardly know (yes you are married but how long for?) without even seeing the shop, or the "friend". Why did you need a loan to "sell" silver on Ebay?

It is all very suspicious to me. I would have to go and see for myself what is going on. Do either of you speak each others language? If not I would probably hire an interpreter to.

I am sorry for being so cynical and negative, but I do have sympathy for you and I hope you resolve it.

Completely agree with you Libralady ... which in itself is a bit worrying Whatever next?!?!?!

Even if you speak the same language and are from the same country, I would be suspicious, but this?!?! I also do wonder why people marry BEFORE they know whether they can live together in the same country! She says they are "fighting for a visa so they can be together" but if it was that important to him, he would ask her to live in Turkey with him. If my suspicions are correct I imagine he didn't want that option

When someone uses a porno star's name and posts their photo as their name and photo, do you need a whole lot more to determine maybe they don't exactly have the best intentions?

I had no idea that his name was also the name of a porn star! Alameda must be quite an expert in such matters so I will take her word for it lol lol

Just given the information she provided, I would NOT be searching him out NOR would I give him another dime. This sounds all to suspicious. He didn't want you calling his friend? I would be interested to see what his friend has to say...

I feel the man does not love the woman. I think probably, it was because of money they married. If the man took the money and left, then no replies at sms or email or calls, in fact this is very bad.
We are turkish, I really want to talk nice about him, but this case I feel the man cheats on woman. In fact a man with good heart will not eat money of wife and will solve problems face to face, or talk to her if he wants to leave.
But on the other hand, there may be possibilities the man has real problems or in danger because of no replies of anything. First the wife should think about this. If she finds out he is alive, then she will think over the bad side of the husband.
In fact most Turkish people are trustful and share everything with each other.

Not to start a debate, but I don't see how you can say that it's a fact most Turkish people are trustful.. I beg to differ. I don't care if your Turkish, German, American or Irish everyone is different. People are people and lies are lies no matter what nationality you are.

Turkish men do lie...just like any other nationality. They are called opportunists and I have seen plenty of them in my day. What I have a hard time with is women being so willingly ignorant. I try to have sympathy, but sometimes I think they are blinded to this thing called LOVE.

If taking out numerous loans, disappearing with my money and never hearing back is LOVE, I want no part of it.

Well, in this case...if they are married (as she mentioned) I suppose she knows his family and viceversa. She could have contacted them or they could have told her if he had a problem or if he was in danger.

Especially done by women, because we are repeatedly told that the measure of our success is 'finding a good husband!!!'
