my guess is because too many events happened in Turkish history- which made Christians believe that Turks are a threat. Remember, Turkey was a major world power until WW1. I grew up only ever hearing negative things about the Turks, and even in 2010, when i was visiting my boyfriend in Turkey, my mother said to me: You will get abducted with that dress! Turks embody everything Christians love to hate--- steamy harems, jealous husbands, a preoccupation with sex, violence,... so the Christian flirtation with the Kurds is a ´your enemy is my enemy´ reaction.
i am saddened that people loose their lives over stupid politics. my friend visited Var, very recently, and he was not impressed by the level of animosity and violence shown even by the children. Hate begets hate, and this cycle has to end!
thank godot, at last a christian admits why they love Kurds so much!
and thanks for admitting the fact that the christians hate Turks. You are at least an honest one.

How much do you think your mother knows the Turks?
To be honest, it is the first time I have heard of this "the Christian flirtation with the Kurds is a ´your enemy is my enemy´ reaction".. Are you sure?
As far as the reason for the West being sympathetic to Kurds of Turkey is completely different. There is whole range of issues such as thousands of Kurds immigrating to the west and telling the stories like banned Kurdish language; burning many Kurdish villages; torture; killings etc.. At some stage, anybody proving that they were coming from east of Turkey and saying that they were Kurds were allowed in..I think it was in 1990s when the burning of the villages were taking place.. There are thousands of human rights violation cases in EU Human rights courts. Many times Turkey was found guilty unfortunately _Just the day before yesterday, Turkey was found guilty in Hrant Dink case and has to pay thousands of Euros...
It always seemed to me that emphty with the people who is oppressed.
Same as Vanessa Redgrave being sympathetic towards the Chechens..

No you are wrong, how come? they all boycotted the election, obeyed pkk, smell of Ergenekon there, Commandos from Hakkari Commando Brigade forgot their bag on the crime scene and also used mines made in Russia, I think taraf newspaper give a start to research, soon we can hope a video Turkish Commandos laying the mines, or a radio talk celebrating eachother how they killed the babies of ovepopulating Kurds...
I hope we dont end up like it happened in the incident a year ago..
Do you remember there was a very similar incident.. PKK planting a mine and killing 6 soldiers..
And later on, it turned out to be the mine was put by our army!! (later on we learnt it from a recorded voice on the net..)
I am still abit cautious about this incident..There are videos around and they show some mines etc..
We should wait and see!!

Arafta
can I ask why you christians hate the muslims but love the Kurds who are also muslims so much?
_____________________________________________________________________________
This is not true...everything is all but a history of the past....past is past...and I think to keep us going on, we should think about today and be positive...instead of killing each other, fighting here and everywhere...PEACE NOT WAR....How can anyone move on, if u always think about what happened before...my side, soon I´m going to convert to Islam from Christian, people ask me why? My mom even say, u should read all about Turkish and their past..well, i have my own will...it´s in my heart not because I will be married with a Turkish...no one´s forcing me to do it...For me, it doesnt really matter what religion u have, what´s important is the attitude...
No one´s perfect every country have their own problem...it´s people making everything complicated.....
My condolences for the family´s loved one who were killed in the incident......
Dualarımı.....Huzur içinde yat...

Wow, can you tell me why you have such a messed up view of Christians? There are some people who love Turks and hate Kurds. There are some Christians who hate Kurds and love Turks... There are some who love both, and there are even more who hate both. It´s like Christians are actuall people, all having different opinions! Strange, isn´t it...
But I can tell you, that I think the majority doesn´t give a *bleep* about Turks, Kurds, whatever. Why hate or love somebody that you have no connection with? I think some Turkish people have an egocentric view, like the whole world cares about what happens in Turkey. Newsflash... they don´t.

Not whole world but US and EU !
In the end, they managed to indoctrinate an entire generation with the belief that US and EU have nothing to do but messing with Turkey..
I am telling you.. We need shrinks!!!
I dont know how we will clear this mess since it seems it is not feasible to take the entire generation to a hospital..
