Hate to burst your bubble but the average american citizen does not care about Turkey, heck they don´t even know there is a country called Turkey and if you were to ask them what they think of Turkey they would probably say "that bird is down right tasty with stuffing at thanksgiving". The only americans that knows anything about Turkey are the poloticians in Washington and the users that are members on this site.
How come the citizens of a country that´s foreign policies mingling with Türkiye, do not know about where Türkiye is?
Either this is your exaggeration or American society is much more ignorant then we think!
thanks...

The americans barely knows that the country north of them is called Canada. They do not learn it in school, their maps has the USA shown and where Canada should be there is a big white spot.
I should know, when I went to the states people would ask where I was from and when I would say Canada they would say "where is that, is it near Europe"
There was even an interview done on the streets of New York and mind you New York is very close to Canada and people either did not know where Canada was or though we lived in igloos and rode sleds pulled by dogs.
So it is not an exageration, like I said sorry to burst your bubble
But this does not change the fact of that EU and US have a special page for Türkiye on their foreign policy!
thanks.

I have a question for you, what are the countries bordering Turkey?
...
The reason why Turkey is so interesting to US foreign policy makers is that you have Iran and Irak bordering your country.
When Russia was a "super power" US was very intereested in Canada because Canada has borders with Russia, mind you it was in the Artic but they made it clear that USA would defend Canada´s northen border.
So if Turkey would be bordered by say Switzerland, England and France, the US would not even take notice of Turkey
Oh, it is not very hard to know it! I already know that US is not interested in Türkiye because of loving us! We´re close to all strategic points; Balcanians, Middle East, Caucasians, Europe, Africa, Asia, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq...Shall I count more?

Hey bubble burster don´t waste your breath on explaining how sheer ignorant is an ´avarage American citizen´. ´The avarage American citizen´ did not care about Vietnam either, but
58.267 of them killed
303.644 wounded
1.711 missing in action there.
I think 99% of them couldn´t find it on a map before killed or wounded there.
And what about Afganistan or Iraq? Do you think that poor "avarage American citizen" knew where they were before he was sent and killed there?
And tell me for why USA has the most effective and powerful army, navy and air force in the world? Just for sport?
We don´t say all the American citizens are interested in Turkey, but a few politicians who are enough to ruin the whole world.
What about bursting your own bubbles first?

Since you have both OBVIOUSLY spend extensive time in America, I am sure you personally KNOW millions of Americans and are able to make this judgement. I will just have to take your word for it, I guess. Its just really weird that almost ALL of the Americans I know do know exactly where Turkey is, and strangely enough, most of them can even point to it on a map. I must be living in one of those "smart pockets" of society. I have lived in many places through out the world, including Turkey....I can assure you that stupid people live EVERYWHERE and are not indiginous to America. AND being stupid is a prerequisite for being a politician.
I can assure you that if I posted something on this site that said something like, "Turks are so stupid, they can´t even even find their ass with their own two hands" you all would have a friggin fit! If you don´t like American politics, say what you want, but insulting an entire nation of people because of your distorted view is not acceptable.
