Let die = ölsün not öldür yes let die=öldür go check a dictionary
öldür = kill
Let him die = bırak ölsün.
For example, someone had an accident lying on the street and you hate that person. While people trying to give first aid to that person ,you shout at people saying "Let him die ! " " Bırakın ölsün " I know thats not a good example but just to make it clear.
When it comes to "durdurmadı" it can also translated as just "to stop " For instance :
Arabayı durdur , ineceğim --> Stop the car, I will get off.
What you do is called literal translation tunci. You should try to change your Turkish sntence for better Turkish.
For example:
Öldürmeyen Allah öldürmez = The God will never let you die sometimes.

Si+++ , öldürmek = to kill is literal and ony translation. There is no other better way to translate the word "öldür" = "kill" ,
when it comes to your example; Öldürmeyen Allah öldürmez = The God will never let you die sometimes ----> This is a proverb, and of course it needs free translation, not literal.
but for simple translations we should be clear so that learners shouldnt get confused . Dont you think ?

You gave me extra two "i" s , I gave you extra [+}, I ve given you extra {+] for your efforts in TC which is "takdire şayan", so I take extra "i" assuming that you mean good.
when it comes to Oxford dictionary, You are free to believe in what you want to believe. But as everyone knows that "öldürmek" = to kill .
If you go to any English course in Turkey and ask teachers what is "to kill " in english, they all will tell you " it is "öldürmek" .

Maybe you two are in a bad mood and maybe I shouldn´t put my spoon into this soup but just for fun I had to check one thing:
(Koran 2:259)
Maybe, just maybe, it is a question of text type?
Besides, as everyone can see, cleaning my language doesn´t need very fine equipment, just a big shovel is enough.
With all my respect.

Forget anything said until now, The God and "to kill" doesn´t go well. That alone. So
öldürmek = to let die
Öldürmeyen Allah, öldürmez = The God who never lets you die will not let you die. (A literal translation, as you would do.)
Besides, I don´t need to ask any teacher. I have enough material to do my checks.

Take it as an opportunity. We have given some useful info for those who might read this discussion. For example did you know that causative suffix would also mean "to let someone do something"?
Kendini elle-t-mez = He/she never lets anybody touch him/her.
Pencereyi kapat-tır-madı = He didn´t let me close the window.
Öl-dür-meyen Allah, öl-dür-mez = The God will never let you die someties.
etc.

Because it´s smaller in size, the Moon has less gravity than Earth (only 1/6 of the amount on Earth). So if you weigh 60 kilos on Earth, you would only weigh 10 kilos on the moon. But even though the moon´s gravity is weaker than the earth´s gravity, it is still there. If you threw a ball in the air, it would still fall back down. However, it would fall much more slowly. And if you jumped up as high as you could on the moon, you would still fall back to the ground. You could jump and do lots of tricks in the air and not hurt yourself at all, even if you did not land on your feet. That´s because the moon´s gravity wouldn´t pull as hard as the earth´s gravity does.
As was said before, the moon has no rain or wind, so footprints would never wear away naturally.
The Moon also has no atmosphere. Without an atmosphere, you wouldn´t be protected from heat or cold. Because of this, astronauts have to wear very heavy spacesuits to protect themselves and to carry oxygen to breathe.
In the Earth, the sky is blue because the blue rays of the sun bounce off the gases in the atmosphere, making it look like blue light is coming from the sky. But on the moon, because there is no atmosphere, the sky looks black, even in the daytime. And because there is no atmosphere to protect the moon from the rocks that fall from outer space, they crash right into the moon and make big dents called craters. The moon has thousands of these craters.
Dış uzaydan düşen göktaşılar, atmosfer Ay’ı korumadığından dolayı hemen Ay’a çarpıp büyuk krater denilen çentikler yaparlar. Ay’ın binlerce krateri vardır.

Gravity=yerçekimi
Dolayısıyla, Dünya’nın üzerinde 60 kilosun kilo olsan (or 60 kilo isen), Ay’da ağırlığın sadece 10 kilo olur (or 10 kilodur).
Dış uzaydan düşen göktaşılar göktaşları, atmosfer Ay’ı korumadığından dolayı hemen doğrudan/doğruca Ay’a çarpıp büyuk krater denilen çentikler denen büyük çukurlar yaparlar (oluştururlar). Ay’ın binlerce krateri (Ay´da binlerce krater) vardır.

Agree. Just to help others: ciddiyet is gravity as in seriousness, opposite of joking around.
Its root is ciddi = serious
yerçekimi comes from yer - ground çekim - pull i.e. pull of the ground, which is a lovely description of the force of gravity!
