Beware !
The article ties this "proto-Eurasiatic" language to the kernels of the so called Indo-European people.
A tie of this nature can do wonders towards proving the existence of this so called Indo-Europeans, hence demonstrate that the beginning of civilization belongs to European ancestors. This is almost the ultimate dream for many Western scientists.
The trouble in proving that such an antique race actually existed is that the supporting scientists have so far failed to find land of origin for them; a land where they originated from and spread their civilisation; İndia did not work, Iran did not work, Caucassia did not work. Seems to me they have their eyes on Eurassia now.
Guess who currently inhabits Eurassia !
No offence but you are imagining things.
There are millions of scientific researchers in the world, many of whom dedicated their whole lives to the study of historical linguistics and other anthropological fields. Their job is to learn about everything that surrounds us: its past, present and future. These men and women abide to the strictest rules of professional conduct. There is no political agenda in these internationally-acclaimed research centers, so I really don´t know where you´re getting this idea from.
The Washington Post aren´t the only people who wrote about it. The Economist, The Guardian and so many other newspapers/websites around the world wrote about the latest discoveries of the proto-Eurasiatic theory.
What´s wrong with the theory anyway? All it proves is that you´re all branches of the same tree. Indo-European, Uralic, Turkic, Caucasian and other Eurasian languages didn´t magically appear out of nowhere like a mushroom. They are all branches of the same tree, with a common ancestry. Scientists call the ancestral language Eurasiatic. In religion, the lineague is called Japhetic (the tribes of Japheth).
This isn´t about westerners wanting to prove their existence. This is about searching for our human origins. Welcome to the new age my friend, there are no borders today, we´re all one global community and we´re all related to each other.
By the way, westerners never claimed that they started human civilization. I really don´t know who taught you all this false information. Every single western scientist today would tell you that human civilization started in ancient Iraq, ancient Egypt, ancient India, maybe even ancient Ethiopia. None of those places are European, so where is the European bias?
The Eurasiatic theory will keep getting stronger as time goes by, and as humans learn more about their history. Western Europeans, Russians, Turks, Iranians, Indians, Mongolians, Hungarians are all related to each other, one way or the other. There´s nothing wrong with that.
