"Sen uzunsun" is not the proper way of telling someone he/she is tall; it may easily be misunderstood.

Nice girls should always prefer "Sen uzun boylusun" instead.

"Uzun" does not mean "tall", it simply means "long".

I guess you could also use boylu  which means tall-long and high

but normally uzun is used

Because sometimes people don´t want to be bothered  to say the whole thing, It´s just the way of  collaquial usage , by dropping "boylu".

Everyone knows that just "uzun" doesn´t mean "tall" on its own however when you use it with a person, people will know  that the person  is talking about "tall" [the height of a person] , although it is not a proper way.,people use it that way.. its just a collaquial way.

Ayşe uzun ve zayıf bir kız  =  Ayşe uzun boylu ve zayıf bir kız  ===> Ayşe is a tall and thin girl.
