Oh Allah, Sustainer of the Earth and the Skies! Do not leave in the darkness your servant who is reciting these lines. Do not make him suffer. If you give him pain don´t make him search for a cure. Become the cure of his pain. Keep him far away from his enemies, whether they are his enemies baldly or secretly. For the sake of you being truly Merciful do not let him go astray from the right path, do not cut the ground out from under him, do not darken his heart. We wish you a happy Kandil festival.

How would you describe Mr. Erdoğan´s language and personal style? He is a populist, can you hear it in his speech? Does he differ from other politicians? I am curious.

Funny. We are seeing a new word being born. Let´s see what its lifespan is going to look like.

The plural marking is a difficult thing for a beginner. I studied for three years and I still find it like a spiritual question. Don´t worry, kashf, it will come to you when it is time. The only thing we need to know is that plural marking in an English sentence does not always mean plural marking in the corresponding Turkish sentence. If I were you I would concentrate on the chains of suffixes for now.

But caliptrix is absolutely right about the correct and fluent form of these sentences of course.

YENİ TÜRKÜ, KALIRSA BİR SORU (1987)

Kalırsa bir soru kalır benden.

Yanıtı var mıdır bilmem.

Denizine, göğüne, toprağına,

uçanına, kaçanına bu dünyanın

kalırsa bir soru kalır benden.

Ölüm gelir, gün akşama kavuşurken.

If there is something left from me it is just one question.

I don’t know if it has any answer.

If there is something left from me it is just one question

for the sea, for the sky, for the earth,

for the fugitives and escapers of this world.

When the day catches the evening it is time to die.

********************

Kalırsa bir soru kalır benden.

Yanıtı var mıdır bilmem.

Yazar elim upuzun bir şiir,

söyler dilim içli bir türkü.

Kalırsa bir soru kalır benden:

gökte yıldızdır o, toprakta gömü.

If there is something left from me it is just one question.

I don’t know if there is any answer.

My hand writes a lengthy poem,

my tongue sings a sentimental song.

If there is something left from me it is just one question:

it is a star in the sky, a treasure in the earth.

*********************

Kalırsa bir soru kalır benden,

bir de üç beş şiir, iyi kötü.

If there is something left from me it is just one question

plus a couple of poems, however they turned out.

In Arabic when you visit someone you can "descend to him". That is why I have paid attention to some uses of inmek and wondered if it is copying the same use. Quite interesting, thanks Faruk and caliptrix.
