When the Prime Minister accuses foreign investors for supporting restlessness in Turkey he is biting the hand that is feeding him. Compared with many EU countries Turkey is doing well economically but at the same time it is very dependent on foreign investments.

Pluses:

- young population, plenty of labor

- huge inner market

Minuses:

- Productivity of work is not on the average West European level.

- Participating in working life is deficient.

- Labor is often not well educated.

- In a way Turkey is an economy of affiliate companies. A great deal of Turkish export consists of products of foreign companies only manufactured in Turkey.

- Turkey lives on short-term loans which means the country is vulnerable for changes in financial markets.

The crucial benefit Turkey has had in the international investors’ eyes until recently compared with other countries of the area has been stability. And Erdoğan instead of making more powerful enemies should do his best to keep it that way.

Turkey needs EU membership talks now more than ever. Ongoing negotiations is the best way to make sure the democratization process continues. (Says the Finnish Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb who also expresses the wish that opponents of Turkey´s EU membership would not use recent events as pretext for their prejudices.)

1-How does the Turkish language sound to you? Is it fast? Is it refined? Like what? Once a person who does not speak any Turkish told me that it sounds like Turkish people speak so fast. Soft soft. Except ç that surprises me often. Very fast. There can be a lot of information in one quickly passing word. And also cool because sentences are often very simplified and ambiguous. I often use this style when I write in Finnish and people err to think it is something original.

2-Do you fully understand a native Turk when listening to them? Do you watch Turkish television? Do you undertand it? No I seldom understand everything. The word stress is a slight problem for me, sometimes I cannot understand quite easy sentences because I "hear" them wrong. This is frustrating at times.

3-What aspects of the Turkish grammer is easy and what aspects are difficult for you? Turkish morphology is very regular and logical, like simple mathematics. The difficult things for me are 1) everything including LAR and 2) use of tenses.

4-Do you think that Turkish words are easy to memorize? What techniques you use to memorize words? They must be easy because my vocabulary is not so bad. I play with roots, an original Turkish word can always be separated into understandable sequences. I have a constant problem with Arabic loanwords even though I know Arabic a bit. I never learn words as such but I read a lot. When you come across with the same word for the tenth time you have learned it.

5-Why do you learn Turkish? The reasons vary with time... But Turkish language is a window to a fascinating country, culture and people. And Turkish syntax is a challenge to my brain.

I think all these levels are mentioned in the Qur´an as well as a description of their dwellers. For instance Jannat-ul-Na´iim is mentioned in Surat Luqman verse 8: "those who believe and do righteous deeds, for them, will have gardens of bliss."

The most upsetting thing in this list is the destiny of the hypocritical. They are in the lowest hell, lower than idolators and pharaohs. And what I see in this world is that people are so often unaware of their hypocrisy and furthermore unable to analyse their own actions at all. I think there are only two logical ways to face this threat: to lose your faith or to fall into depression.
