I think it´ something worldwide. Even in european countries, being homosexual is something that is not seen "normal", but it is "somehow" accepted. However, they are still made fun of and guys usually have a tendency to avoid them. I think for every family it is something hard to accept that a fmaily member is a homosexual.

In Turkey, especially in rural areas it is not easy, but at least Turkey is a country where there are accepted homosexuals, forexample in Syria (my friend said) it is impossible for an homosexual to appear on TV and to be popular.

You are right about that, but only partially. It is true that there is some kind of ´fake acceptance of homosexuality´ in the Netherlands. I know enough people who never say anything bad about homosexuality, would not deny them any rights or whatsoever, but in private still think it is weird or dirty. But this group of people is slowly reducing here, thank God. And I definitely do not agree that it is hard for every family to accept a member is homosexual. From personal experience I know that there are at least 4 families () who do not have any problems, of which one is very Christian religious!

You, too. Are you aware of the number of homosexual turkish singers that are so popular on TVs?

That´s what makes it so sad Meltem Once they are popular, they are accepted. But when they are in your family or friends, suddenly it´s not that easy to accept.
