Hahaha its a joke, I got an AA (as a grade, not as my new hangout place without wine).

Ohh Ive been missing warm wine here! They dont sell it in stores as far as Ive seen, but have been told that as soon as the cold kicks in (which it surely did), it will be sold in pubs and taverns! When midterms are over, here I come!

Quoting ReyhanL

Dont believe in commercials as "ütü keyfi" !

 And if you were stupid enough to do so, be careful spraying it only on the clothes, dont let it reach the floor because it makes it REALLY slippery

Turkish-Teacher, I do not understand your reply. Do you mind translating into English? ^^;

 It means something like this:

Just leave it and let people wear what they want. Let those who want to wear headscarf, put on a headscarf, and those who want to wear Holy Ali´s sword wear holy Ali´s sword. The one who wants to wear a mini skirt, let them wear it, the one who wants to wear a black burqa, let them wear it. I respect every point of view. Every sheep is hung from its own legs (a saying that means something like ´everybody is responsible for their own actions/behaviour)

If some believe that the headscarf is a command/order, I respect them. And for those who say ´no, there is no such thing´, that again is theirthought. Nobody should be forced to wear or not to wear a headscarf.

Last week I met a Turkish girl at ODTÜ in Ankara who was born and raised in the Netherlands and moved back to Turkey when she was 17. When she started speaking in Dutch to me, I realized I preferred to answer in Turkish and did so. Impossible? I may not dream flawless, but I definitely dream in fluent Turkish!

Merak etme !

And I would probably go for: Lokantadaki arkadaşının yanına git (go to your friend [who works] at the restaurant)

No seriously, I reject the existence of such a word

I bet you got it from a commercial for ironing sprey or something

Ütü just means ´iron(ing)´, you know, the thing you do to make your clothes nice and without wrinkles

Cadbury´s for me too! Flake please

Without kidding, Rose´s, Quality Street and Cadbury´s sell those gift boxes with all different kinds of chocolate in it, I suggest you take one of them. I personally love the crunchy ones of Cadbury´s (I think its with honey, I dont remember really well),, I havent seen chocolate with crunchy bits in it here much, besides chocolates with nuts in it, I dont think there is much variety in Turkish chocolate. So a mixture would probably be a nice gift!

Maybe bringing cookies is nice too. Cookies you buy here in the supermarket taste awfully like factory-products, bringing cookies with jam or cream might be nice as well.
