I would recommend Redhouse dictionaries (the big ones are really good, also giving examples of usage and stuff), but since you want to carry it with you, the Langenscheidt (not sure if I spelled itcorrectly) pocket dictionaries are comprehensive and useful. Redhouse also sells pocketversions but I dont know how good they are.

The plugs of electronic devices we buy from the US don´t fit in Turkey. Some kind of converter was used to change/convert this. Is there anyone who knows what the exact name of this converter is in turkish and in english?

And where can I find it the cheapest?

elveda bye?

farewell

sana sevdiklerin ile uzun ve mutlu bir hayat diliyorum a lovely and long and happy life

i wish you a long and happy life with those you love

inşallah aşkı ve diğer istediklerini bulacaksın god willing..

I hope you will find love and the other things you want

 ve şimdi and now

 son end

 ama eminim bulacaksın

but I am sure you will find it

 önce senden hoşlandım
 ve en son aşık oldum

at first I liked you

and then as last, I fell in love with you

 sen yoktun senden hoşlandım
 ama karşılık yok

you werent there. I liked you

but there was no response (no mutual feelings)

ve ben aşkımı ben ile götürüyorum

and I am taking my love with me

 çocuk gibi... like a child

çocuk Hakan, hatırla bazen sometime remember

The child Hakan, remember (him?) sometime

 sonra sevdim i later loved

sana yaptığım hataları affet what i did for you?

forgive me the wrongs I did you (the mistakes I did to you)

artık ben yokum i am no longer here? (correct)

 ve herşey sil erase everything
 çocuk gibi like a child
ve bu defa çok ciddiyim this time i am serious
 çocuk değil not a child?

When I try to translate with my own Turkish knowledge, it comes out different than when I tried google translate on it. So it would help if perhaps a native Turkish speaker could translate the lost in translation meaning. I appreciate any help, thank you.

You might want to ask the study-abroad office to send out this message for you to (other foreign) students as well. They do the same for Turkish students who look for a roommate (that is how I found my flatmate for my stay at ODTÜ ) , they may also do it for exchange students. I know there are more exchange students at ODTÜ this period who want to get out of the yurt, and there are also turkish students who would like a foreign roommate. I dont know what you meant by Turkish board, but applying to the SAO might help you out!

Well, I watch Turkish series from either http://diziport.com or www.diziizleyelim.com. Not youtube, but here you can also watch it ´bir parça halinde´ so you dont have to switch every 10 minutes.

 For “Deli_kizin:

Quoting jadams

I just stumbled across this now and though it a strange as I just had this exact conversation with my boyfriend tonight. He said that it is a bad slang and not to use it, he said I can use erkek instead.

I think it is because nowadays it is mainly used in the context of ´lan´, a kind of vulgar way to address a male, a word I actually make very frequent use of, but you have to know when and to whom to use it
