DK don't be so sure about this. I see very similar writing style to a former, deleted member who used to end his posts with "profound" statements....like "got it", "that's enough" and "mind your own business". If it's true, it is just a matter of time before we see the REAL person behind the posts. Time will tell.

You read my mind, but then in any case this post was with an improved writing style And 'any questions' and the quote at the end, is exactly what made me think that way too

I don't know really.. if somebody tries to tell me who I am over internet, or makes a personal comment, ofcourse I shall respond. And if somebody says something that is against my thoughts of freedom, women rights, religious perception whatsoever, ofcourse I shall respond. But all these discussions? Everybody seems to feel the need to have the last word. Please somebody, respond. I dont feel the need to have the last word anyway

that's all..

Though I dont agree with all you say (I have to give credit to Catwoman about a certain degree of individualism opposed to one ideology), I find your discussing-style pretty refreshing Lately, everybody who has tried to 'convince' 'us' of how good Atatürk is, how good nationalism is, was just getting offended and made unfriendly remarks about what we can or cannot say. But I think you expressed your opinion about this very well, and Im really glad that you are against those ülkücü too, that killed Hrant Dink. I was in Ankara at the time that it happened, and I remember the news very well.

Quoting azade:

honestly how does allowing headscarves at unis (allowing them, thus giving more females the chance of getting an education, not making them mandatory(!)) interfere with secularism? In secular states people should have the right to believe in any religion, if that's what they want. It's a personal right.

+1 (I know, now it looks I dont agree with you as much as Catwoman does, but I do )

Im an opposer of AKP, I dont like when religious elements enter politics, even when it is not their main agenda. (for example I am also against Christian Democratic Party, of which our prime minister is member), and Im happy to see that there are still lots of secular-voices in Turkey. So this case, just proves my point that Turkey does not want AND wont accept an Islamic government. But I think this case itself is a bit idiot: the arguments (from what I understand here) dont really make (democratic) sense, it will only create chaos and soon another party will emerge anyhow and as a last: wasnt AKP voted for by over 4o% of the population? I know that when a party does something against the law, it should be closed, no matter how many votes it got. But add it up with the other arguments and it sounds a bit strange to close this party. But as a personal thought, I will be happy it AKP is gone

Quoting catwoman:

I think your last sentence is where racism seeps in. You are only giving an illusion that everybody is respected under turkish nationalism, in reality, you are only accepting an extreme circle of what you call "real" turks as legitimate, all other Turks should either do as you say or they will be labeled as anti-Turkish.
