this is a language website, u must work for it.

How dare you say that. I think I have contributed much more to the language of this website than you give me credit for.

I am not gonna respond fully to your post Janis. If you have any problems with me being an administrator, then you can send your complaints to the other administrators Catwoman and Admin. As far as youre concerned, it is not for you to decide what can and cannot be discussed on this webpage.

If you think people are only here, and should only be here, to learn the language, then what are you doing? According to you they shouldn't read about your ant. And why did you bother to post it? Ohh ofcourse, you wanted them to translate Now I get it But Atatürk? It's not like whatever he said is suitable for the general level of our languagelearners here, is it? So why post it? Because you want to spread the word about Turkey. That's fine. Turkish politics is about Turkey too. But apparantly that's not fine.

Janissary, I believe this is none of you business!

He has the habit (actually this is only the second time, but thinking of the fact I had said before I dont appreciate it..) of bringing my bf and his precious family up in threads where I talk about my future with a Kurdish man.. He knows I dont appreciate him dragging his family inside a conversation here, so I hope that was not the reason for him to mention it.

I was speaking hypothetically anyway.

You are right müjde. they cant write anything about other ethnic groups in europe.

This website is about Turkey

Quoting janissary:

I havent seen any news or article about turks in balkans,

Actually that would be nice to read about! Why dont you post some?

Quoting janissary:

at first it was a turkish language language but not anymore.

This has to do with members showing less interest in language these days You cant force people to learn a language, can you? And some members who have been here longer, like Daydreamer, deli, Lynda, me, and many others, who used to fill language forums with questions etc. in the past, have now learnt quite a lot So maybe the ones in the past have just learnt enough for a while, and no new members have come

Hopefully we will soon start with more language-topics though, topics are being thought of and discussed thorougly these days

I totally agree with you, except for the last bit Maybe it changes from country to country, so tehre you could have a point, but recent studies in the Netherlands have shown that having homosexual parents does not influence the children.

I have 2 gay and one lesbian friend, and actually they are my closest friends. We know each other since we were only about 4 years old. And I can say that at the end of their primary education (at the age of 12 here), it started to become clear that these friends were 'heading towards homosexuality'. It is often heard that homosexual people already felt 'there was soemthing different' about them, in their young ages.. I dont think that in most cases it is just being bored or disappointed in the other sex. I dont think a man who cheats on you creates the curiosity to eat *****. Sorry to say so..

I don't think there is anything wrong with changing your gender. I dont remember the name, but there is an illness where babies (or actually their parents?) can 'choose' which gender they will 'become'. This may mean that a baby has a penis, but in the future may develop breasts as well. Or it has a vagina, but that in the future, the body may start to produce a lower voice, the bodybuilding of a man and facial hair. Such a person has to take medicine all their life, otherwise suddenly the male hormons in the female body will become too strong. I cant remember exactly what the name of this illness is, but I remember that a girl in my highschool had it. When she was at the age of, lets say 16, she was asked by the doctors if she wanted to go on taking 'female medicines' for the rest of their lives, or if she preferred 'the man inside' her, and wanted a transgender operation.

'not allowing none turkish letters' like X, W, Q which happen to be in kurdish language.

Does this rule only refer to Kurdish names? What if I want to name my child Alexandra or Quincy?

Tired but satisfied. We had an open day, a kermes, at my work. We were open from 0900-1800, I informed people about our educational work and sold some books, after that I walked around in the classrooms that were now emptied out, where women were making fresh lahmacun and gözleme, I bought two beautiful silk headscarfs which I will use as shawl or tie around my neck like a tie, there was Turkish music, adana kebap, döner kebap and kuzu şiş (apart from the canteen which was filled with all sorts of hamur işleri that the women had made). As spokesman I talked to the radio and I hope many people have listened so that tomorrow even more people will attend!

Isnt this a nice way of making money!
