you are wrong! when you are in a debate you have to offer your thoughts that would convince me and everyone.

I have an opinion on you: you exaggerate, you look for a dirt under finger nails. thats why when you say white that does not necessarily have to be white.

Excuse me femme,

I don´t think I should bother myself with convincing you.

What if i tell you about the Turkish people´s experiences, or some foreign academicians that say the same thing, or some surveys, does it reflect the reality barba? If you want i can do it. What you want me to prove this prejudice?

To be convincing that the majority of people have prejudice you should have looked at both sides. Both people that have prejudice, and people that don´t. I have experienced enough people in Holland who think I can´t do certain things because I´m a woman. However, this experience doesn´t prove that the majority of Europe has a prejudice that I can´t be good at math

I´m sure you have encountered prejudice. So have I. So has everybody on this website. But you´re just looking at people who hold a prejudice, and say "this proves my case!". You are on a "rotten apple hunt". A few rotten apples at a fruit-stand doesn´t prove that all or the majority of the apples in the fruit stand ar rotten. Hatred has a bigger impact then love in our memories. You don´t remember that guy in the shop who helped you when you dropped your groceries. You do remember that men who called you a bad name in the street. It´s as simple as that.

I agree that some people have prejudice against Turkish people. Those people often have prejudice against A LOT of people. It does not prove that Turkish people are the most hated people or something. I´m not Turkish and I had to deal with loads of prejudice.

Barba below is the quote for you from university professor in US who made surveys about the issue;

"I have been working on a book, and on other materials on the image of Turks in America. In other words, why Americans feel the way they do about Turks, and what they feel about Turks. The material we found is very depressing.

First of all, there were surveys that were made in the 1930s and the 1950s in America, just asking people, university students especially, asking them what they thought of various peoples, asking them what they thought of Turks and of Japanese and of Germans and of Jews and of various identifiable groups of people. Most of the prejudices that people had given out were pretty much exactly what you would expect. You know, Jews were thought to be very commercial, blacks, the prejudices against blacks were exactly the kind that you always would see, people would consider them to be lazy or something like that. Prejudices against Orientals, it’s very strange because the Japanese were not at all considered to be good businessmen or manufacturers or anything; (in fact) in the old days, they believed they made very slipshod things, they talked about “made in Japan” was an insult.

So those prejudices have changed. People now have fewer prejudices about the Jews, fewer about the Japanese surely. Not necessarily more liking. In the surveys we see now you see, for instance, that often times the Japanese are more disliked for different reasons. But the prejudices aren’t as strong.

But the one group that always holds out in the prejudices is the prejudice against Turks. In the early surveys, when people were very willing to say what they really thought in the 1930s and the 1950s, you asked people to say what do you think about people? They gave them a list of about eighty words and they got to pick. The words they picked for Turks were “vicious,” “very cruel,” “sadistic,” “licentious”...

My opinion about the majority of europeans is that they are ignorant, self centred consumers (repeating after Cat now). Here you go, my own prejudice

When people like c++ or armegon claim about their prejudice against turks, they dont realise they give a credit to them. their claim places europeans in a better picture of educated strong opinioniated geeks with some knowledge about turks which would make hate or love. meanwhile most of them havent got a clue about turkey.

those who work save their money till weekend to go to pubs to get totally drunk. smarter ones save to go abroad to countries like turkey or spain (to them theres no difference). money is the factor.

basically europeans are focused on earning and spending.

when I meet knowledgable brits I get positively surprised. Once a lady associated my country´s history with Attila the Hun. Not really the fact, but still kudos to her for knowing that name.

People dont want to be associated with racism. They tremble at the sound of this word.

My daughter was mocked at school (somebody called her chineese and narrowed his eyes while making strange noises). I reported this to the headteacher. He took the names, parents were invited and warned. their names will stay in that special register for the statistics purposes.

everywhere there is an access to your own language: hospitals, offices or even schools. there are lines with translators ready to help you.

So much for prejudiced hatred full and fascist europe.

God save us if the view of Europeans is based on research about AMERICANS. And God save us again if the view of Europeans is based on the people who go to the barstreets in touristic resorts and spend all their money on alcohol. That is a limited, biased sample on which you can draw no conclusions. If you base your opinion about women on the girls who go to a chippendale show, you would think all women like to watch naked men, and are focussed on sexual things. If you base your view of women on the girls who go to a feminist rally, you would think all women have a powerful opinion on their rights and are activily envolved in improving them. If you would base your opinion of women on the waiting room at the doctors office, you would think that all women are either pregnant or sick, or both. Do you REALLY want me to base my opinion on Turkish people on, for example, the guys who work in a barstreet in a tourist-resort? Because in that case all Turkish people are more interested in money then in being a good person, sleep around with everybody just to be able to make more money, and fake love just to get a new phone.

You are doing exactly what you are accuse others of. Luckily the majority of Europeans are not like you.

From a documentary in 1992 directed by Bozkurt Palanduz...

"McCarthy´s work has been the subject of criticism from book reviewers and genocide scholars. According to Israeli historian Yair Auron, McCarthy, "with Heath Lowry, Lewis´ successor in Princeton, leads the list of deniers of the Armenian Genocide." Among other criticisms, he has been accused by Colin Imber of following a Turkish nationalistic agenda. McCarthy is a member of, and has received grants from, the Institute of Turkish Studies. According to Richard G. Hovannisian, Stanford Shaw, Heath Lowry and Justin McCarthy all use arguments similar to those found in Holocaust denial."

See? Everybody can find funky things on internet. So.. whatever!

So what do you expect? Its true everyone can find anything on net, so what will be present here to show something? Personal experiences, other peoples opinions, what else left?  No one is able to find an objective source, because then i can question the reliability of Yair Auron and Richard G. Hovannissian, just easy to google. And it is very normal that Mccarthy appreciated by Turkish nation...Its like these are genocide deniers so these people are not reliable and their survey is nothing but garbage... All surveys are garbage, because you can label anyone with anything...
