In my opinion, a lot of good people are gypsies but since it´s not stamped on their head people assume they are not gypsies. They don´t fit the stereotypical view of a gypsy. I once met a gypsy man in a Türkü bar who was an amazing drummer. He went to the conservatorium for music, and he dreamed of taking his international music career a step further. A very nice, educated and good man. He also said that he would not mention to most Turkish people that he was a gypsy, because people would immediately make assumptions about him and would start to treat him badly.

So he was suddenly convinced that you were not a prejudiced person at your first meet and decided to tell you that he was a gypsy . I guess he was just trying to impress you. Im sure people who knows him, knows that hes a gypsy, actually Turks can understand it from his eyes, these kind of things are hard to be hidden in Turkey. By the way what did you think of when you first travel to Turkey? No prejudice? Because i think every thinking mankind has prejudices in his/her mind, its sometimes true sometimes not...

I am sure you know the answer, but what is the purpose of asking this? You try to say Jews are greater than Turks? to humiliate? A prejudice against Turks that they were not able to raise a prominent people to win a nobel? , you know as turkaturk said Turks are easily offended {#emotions_dlg.lol}

No actually, I was a regular at the Türkü bar, and I always had nice conversations with him. We talked about life in Turkey and after many conversations the gypsy thing came up. I´m not impressed by him being a gypsy, just like I´m not impressed by anybody´s ethnicity. You have to do something more then just being born to impress me.

The first time I travelled to Turkey I thought it was Istanbul and a lot of farms. One of my best friends was a half Turkish boy who would visit his family in Istanbul and in more rural areas every year. I just knew Turkey from his pictures.

Stereotypes are something that everybody has. It makes life easier, and it´s part of human nature. It helps you when you first meet people. But to hold on to your stereotypes with all force, is wrong. If you have negative stereotypes, you must allow people to prove you wrong, otherwise your stereotype just turns you into being a big racist.

Barba talks modern philosophy not truth.

 Why? {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Because it sounds exactly my previous deleted post which was not politically correct. In which I said or called nothing racist but reflected my thoughts. I stated facts about Gypsies. They do live the way I described them. They wonder from one place to another according to their tradition.

I know a person who deals with people like gypsies. in official terms they are called "travellers". Her duties are to support Gypsies and their children financially and educationally.

If what I said was not true then this lady shouldnt have a job for which gov pays and the gov pays for accommadation of Gypsies.

There were cases when Gypsies from Eastern Europe acted like refugges and asked for a shelter  in UK. They received council houses. and then they gave for rent the houses to other eastern europeans.
